I think it would be a good idea to get a notification when its the birthday or anniversary of someone on your friends list!

It would be just like on Facebook!

    What do you guys think?

Hmm... I'm not sure of I like this idea. Well, I'm on here much more than Facebook, and it would be kind of nice to have some help remembering friends' birthdays. However, I'm thinking of the people that have a lot of friends, and it would be kind of annoying to receive a few notifications about it every week. I'm not sure where I am with this suggestion, so I'll wait for other responses.

    We could always toggle it.

If you look down to the bottom of the forum, it lists all birthdays and anniversaries. So you could find your friends easily there. And if it's not there, you can check the Celebrations! forum. :)

    toggle it

Why not customise the Calendar for this? It currently lists everyone's birthdays, so some options on showing people on your friends list for instance may help. It's worth noting you can add your own event to days as well, but that'd be tedious for a bunch of people.

That, or just get used to staring at the bottom of the forum index page which displays bdays and anniversaries. =p

It would be awesome though.. Minute changes like these really make the site better even if it's only a small feature but I guess it's too much work so that's understandable..

How about putting a lil + next to friends in the bday/anniv lists at the bottom, kinda like how it is on the members online or recent profile visits?

This reminded me of a suggestion I was going to propose, but it'd be redundant to post a thread for it when this is similar.

I know that in Who's Online, it just lists friends with a + next to their name, but I think it might be more convenient to have a small "Friends Online" section. Some forums have that, so I was wondering if this place would find it to be anything of use. Not a major thing but worth a mention.

    You mean this?

    Spoiler:

It already does exist, but only in specific styles (usually the older ones). I wouldn't mind if it was implemented in the newer ones for convenience purposes for those who want it.

edit: Unless you're talking about a Who's Online version for just your friends and contacts...
It apparently works on newer styles too. I just plugged that url into a new tab and brought up the list of my contacts and friends, showing who's online and who's not, and I'm using Fundamental, a newer style.

these things are easily visible on the first page that you see when you load pokécommunity. there's no need to make them any more available and definitely not via yet another toggle. just get into the habit of scrolling to the bottom of the page once a day if you're really that fussed about them - maybe you'll see some people who you aren't friends with on there and wish them a happy birthday / anniversary too.

I vote yes. It's easy to forget about something that's at the bottom of the page and I'd like to remember my friends birthdays on here. I use it on Facebook all the time and I love it.
