Numbers are quite important in life, but this is ridiculous. Ash is supposed to be a normal Pok?mon trainer, right? Then why in the world does he always get himself (and sometimes his friends) in major trouble? Then he goes out an nearly gets himself killed half the time!

I've noticed that in the movies that I saw that Ash nearly dies somewhere near the end, but gets saved by someone. Also, in the show, he gets himself in a near-death experience at least 5 times as I can remember. If anyone could get a count, I'd appreciate it. And maybe a list of all those episodes...

Yeah i know what you mean. Near death experiences seeem pretty common in Ash's journeys.

Is he a God or sometin'??

I hope this doesn't answer my own question, but since he IS destined to become THE Pok?mon Master (or Champion in ther newer games), that's why everything seems so hard...

Ash has a very reckless nature to say at the least. I think that when he wants to protect/rescue someone, he'll do anything, even risking his own life. Esspecially when it involves Pikachu. Because of his bond with Pikachu: he'd jumped from towers, risking his life by grabbing Pikachu to avoid a blast from Entei, heck Ash even tried to beat up Mewtwo bare handed for what Mewtwo did to Pikachu.

I lost track and count how many times Ash did something reckless. There are way to many times. I can remember most of them from the movie. Mostly, but not all, are due to his reckless nature.

This is a list of what I could think of at the moment:

    From "Mewtwo Strikes Back"
Jumping from the tower trying to save Pikachu from the Darkballs from Mewtwo. Luckly there was a pool.
Jumping into the tube trying to catch the Darkball who caught Pikachu. He was half conscious when he landed.
Mewtwo using his power to smash Ash into a statue if Mew didn't create a psychic bubble.
Amost got strucked by a Shadow Ball of Mewtwo that was meant for Mew.
Impact of the psybeams of Mew and Mewtwo.

    From "The Power of One"
Almost got frozen solid, zapped and burned at the same time if Lugia didn't showed up at the shrine.
Jumping from a high cliff (this was cut from the final version)
After Lugia Hyper Beamed the cage Ash was floating unconscious in an icy sea

    From "The Spell of Unown"
Grabbing Pikachu to avoid a blast from Entei
Falling from a crystal tower, luckly Charizard was there at the right time
Falling from the crystal tower again, luckly Misty, Brock and TR was there

    From "Celebi a Timeless Encounter"
Falling from from a giant mecha/robot when trying to take the Darkball from the Iron-Masked Marauder
After blasting the jetpack Ash literally falling from the sky.

From "The Guardians of the Water Capital"
Almost got Hyper Beamed when Aerodactyle destroyed the boat
Almost drowned when Aerodactyle destroyed the boat
Almost got killed by Kabutops during a pursuit
Almost got drowned by the machine that Rion/Oakley used to control the water

He isn't the only one. Kenta is just as reckless. He lured a Steelix of TR to a high cliff. Then he wanted Steelix to attack him, so he scold it. Steelix took the bait. Right before the attack hit Kenta he called his Beedrill to pick him up, while the Steelix was falling down the cliff into a river. And also, to protect their Pokemon, Kenta, Marina and Jun'ichi/Jackson tried to block the attack of Steelix's Crunsh attack by themselves. Luckly Raikou used all his power to overcome the Crystal System and blasted Steelix with all his might. Even though they promissed to Minaki/Eusine that they won't be that reckless in the future, I have me doubts if they'll keep up that promise.
