4th Gen Breeding Trouble

For some odd reason my Lucario isn't getting along with my Ditto, does anybody know why this is?

What does the Old Man say when you speak to him? Two Pokemon put in the Daycare will always have an egg unless the Old Man says something like "Your [POKEMON] and [OTHER POKEMON] are doing fine! The two prefer to play with other pokemon than eachother.".
Unless he's saying what I just stated above, they will always have an egg, Even if he says "...The two don't get along very well.".
