Call of Duty: Black Ops 2
    Release date: November 13, 2012

"Black Ops II is set in 2025, as opposed to the Cold War setting of Black Ops. In this new setting, China and the United States are locked in a cold war after China bans the export of rare earth elements following a cyberattack that cripples the Chinese Stock Exchange. War is now defined by robotics, cyberwarfare, unmanned vehicles, mechs and other modern technology. The game's story deals with the speculation that this unmanned technology could just as well be used against those it was meant to protect."

So, the new COD game has been announced and the above trailer shows you a good sight of the game.

What are your views on it? How do you think it will compare to the others? Set in 2025, what do you expect?

Talk about everything to do with the new game, here!

Gotta admit this does look enticing, even though the comments on that vid are typical PMS induced bullcrap I was honestly expecting worse tbh. The horses being included do confuse me a bit though due to time settings and all but it is rather nice to see possible aircraft now (despite it being rather late by now but better late than never) along with a cameo from Woods from the first Black Ops which makes me want to consider buying this when it comes out for now. Pity the release date is a bit off though but oh well.

I did raise an eyebrow when I saw the horses, but I am sure it is explained.

A lot of people saying this is just Halo, but it is a little difficult not the get the comparison if you go with a future FPS, because Halo was there a couple of years ago.

Either way, I feel out with the CoD games and I need to see a lot more from this before I go out and spend my hard earned money on it.

I listened to one of the interviews that a Treyarch manager conducted and he seemed to be implying that the horse mission will be set in 1980's Afghanistan (though he didn't explicitly confirm it) so yeah.

In the interview he also said that the over-arching campaign will have branching paths (if you fail a mission there will actually be consequences), the maps will be non-linear, and more tactical. In the case of the tactical side he said that you can direct the movements of NPC teammates, jump into the bodies of other soldiers/ vehicles during a fire-fight and even conduct the mission from the top down like an RTS. If this is the case for most of the singleplayer missions, rather than a one-off sort of thing, then I think they've done a decent job of finally shaking up the stale COD campaigns.

There hasn't been any mention of the multiplayer changes yet, but right now I think BLOPS2 has gotten off on the right foot even if they should have updated their engine a year or two ago :P

Will be there at midnught as I hace dine for the past 4 years. Booked the week off work already to breeze through the story on release day night then beast multi and zombies.

I am still disappointed with the future theme, not sure how its going to pan out, and it has my biggest pet peve, vehicles. I hope they aren't in multi player.

Okay, so for once I'm slightly interested in a CoD game. I likely wont be running right out and buying it, but still.

To be honest, this looks like a good step forward for the CoD franchise. I know most diehard CoD fans hate it because it's something new for once, and I think this game has potential. The trailer did well in getting my attention, and I will probably end up pre-ordering and purchasing the game. Black Ops 2 definitely looks much better than MW2.5, (*COUGH* MW3 *COUGH*) and Black Ops wasn't even that boring either, but I just hope Treyarch makes the game feel fresh, and not like a Black Ops 2.0.

I'll get it for the campaign and sell just like I did with MW3.

The ideas seem great and it's nice that they've shaken up CoD, but I already know how unbalanced this multiplayer will be.

It will be interesting to see what they do with the multiplayer.

I know games aren't meant to be based souly on the multiplayer, but FPS games like CoD are mainly about the online play. It most likely will be unbalanced, but why they can't just return to how CoD4 was, I don't know.

i've gotten very COD game since COD 3 and Black ops was one of my favorites but there changing zombies so it's more like survival from mw3 so idk if i would buy it

Im not so sure about this game. what sold Black ops for me was the Zombies. that was far more interesting than the story or the multiplayer.
But i guess it wont be on this second game. so im not sure...
Its gonna have to be one of those ill give it a bash kind of games and if it doesnt grasp me quick itll be a no go!

i might buy it based on what my friends say about it if its good maybe idk though i'm excited for halo 4

I'm not happy about the zombie mode changes. I will be looking at this a lot more before I decide on buying it. But I normally always do. Wasn't going to get mw3 but it hit 11pm and i was off down the shop for midnight release.

    Wow, this actually makes me really interested. I've never played a COD before because it always seemed so generic and I'm not very good at FPS, but I'll probably look into this one if they're changing it around that much. Though I probably just like the RTS-sounding component. XD;

the horse back mission sounds really cool and in the first black ops and in mw3 there was no mission that was super cool or anything special

I really disagree with the idea of mechanical warfare... I never liked the technological killstreaks in Black Ops and MW3. I'd much prefer simply using a crazy gun to kill people than getting a robot to do it for me ;-; I'm just stuck with the traditional COD.. but I'll just have to see it to really know how I feel :-)

I'd also prefer another title for the game... oh well.

The 1st time I saw the trailer the I thought it was amazing. I really can't wait for the game. The first Black Ops is my favorite of the Call Of Duty games. I haven't even bought MW3 because I didn't like the Muilt-player changes of it because I have become so addicted to Black ops format.

Futuristic, Darn! I ain't even gonna try it out. If it's gonna be technological weird thingys, then its a big NO for me. I hate those kind of games :\ Glad to see people pleased anyway :\
