    YTV Naruto Date (2005-08-07 10:36:18)
    Shonen Jump's latest Newsblast stated, "What?s the difference between Canada and the United States? Well, it?s further north, it?s colder and? it gets the Naruto anime one day earlier. Yes, that?s right, Naruto will debut on Canadian network YTV on September 9, 2005, at 9:30pm."
    Actually, I'm not sure if this is good or bad for Canadians... we'll see how bad the dub turns out... XD

    We'll have a head start on our rants, so they'll be better? XD;

    That's pretty cool, actually. It's not often we premier something (especially anime) before the US. o_O

    I know, we always end up with anime they've started already ><
    That means that SEED will be over by the 9th, since its replacing SEED in the schedule.

    Haven't been paying attention to any anime recently... esepecially on TV. x_X;

    We used to get Yu-Gi-Oh! episodes first. As in... we'd finish a season really quickly and they'd drag it out. But then we always got a bunch of reruns later on. XD

    I'm not much of a Naruto fan so not really interested like when Inuyasha came to Canada .....BUT..... I'm very glad that things have changed because I remember my old anime line up when I actually was getting into anime since before I saw animes and I shruged them really, I was all about sports back then. Anyway the lineup was on YTV, it started with Digimon followed by Monster Rancher followed by Pokemon followed by DBZ :D so yea with Hack Sign to Yasha to the Naruto to so many more, it's a long step for Canadian TV for the anime department, eh USEh?

    Canada has actually premiered a few cartoons of American and Japanese origin before the US, most notably Teen Titans and Justice League Unlimited.

    But remember that the US have an hour premiere of Naruto, so they'll be ahead by the next day.

    None of it will really matter if the dub is crap though, XD
    No, America got Teen Titans first I believe, since I remember seeing it on the Cartoon Network site long before we got it here.

    Well goody for the Canadians...im so jelous ;-;...neway, how did the canada/naruto conversation turn into a cartoon network/america/teen titans conversation?

    Well the Americans get to see alot of things earlier, so it's only fair for the Canadians to take a turn at it, anyway.

    Im not saying theres no problem with that*holds up white flag* and they have ebery right to see it before us, but odds are that ONE day wont make much of a difference on the anime economy...haha...i made a word...

    Canada had the final episodes of Teen Titans 2 months before America got them.
    I'm talking about premieres though, not who sees episode 50 first or w/e, XD

    Yeah, Jon, we already said we know we get to see the bulk of episodes first. A while back, we'd finished the Duelist Kingdom season of Yuugiou before the US was even halfway through or something. o_O; Then we ran through all our Battle City episodes the next year, etc. YTV (basically the only channel that shows anime) has a tendency to do that. So... we know we see finales and stuff later. But to actually premier an anime is pretty cool. @_@;

    Our late-night anime is far better than the US'. I know that already. ^_^; Our Inuyasha dub doesn't censor anything and we get the original Japanese openings and endings (as far as I've seen on my annual treks to the States, they just cut out the themes). Haven't seen SEED, but I assume it's the same.

    It's simply because, while we may have REALLY retarded broadcasting laws, our censorship laws aren't nearly as strict as the USA's. We can get away with almost anything as long as it's later at night. XD;

    *crosses fingers for uncut* ;_;

    Well, Naruto is replacing SEEDs spot in the schedule, and IY is being moved to 9, meaning generally anything 9 after will be either uncut or virtually uncut, since they're showing uncut InuYasha at 9 >>
    Well, I believe the US gets Endings, but not the Openings to the shows, and they cut the SEED opening here so its like 20 seconds, and they show the first opening throughout the entire series, but all the endings for it are intact.

    you're right about that... almost everything in the USA is censored... and if they keep censoring stuff like this next thing we know all we'll be allowed to see are Teletubbies and Barney....

    *shudders at the thought*
