Not really. This was for school, you see, we were suppose to retell some folklore we read in class. My class thought it was pretty good, what do you guys think?

    "The Living Ying Yang fish"

A long time ago, in the forest of what we call now "Sudan" There was a King and Queen Lion and lioness. Now, before we can go any further, I must tell you that the King and Queen had the last name of "Chin" which meant in that time, "Worth a million silver and gold pieces." But, that did not mean animals with the last name, never mind their kin, had or going to inherit a fortune. But in this case, The King and Queen had this last name, were unbelievably rich. On January 7th, 1000, the King and Queen were blessed with a baby boy. Now, in that time, this date was the most perfect for a baby to be born. Because January was also known as the golden month, 7 was the great god of pride's number, and year 1000 was the year of the lion, and what the animals called then "The Great Clearing" because all of the three main numbers where now zero's. The king was filled with pride, and named his new son Po-wan, meaning "Great beginner". That night, the Queen lioness told her new baby the story of the great Ying Yang Fish. A story of the two fish. Ying, the white selfless one, and Yang, the black and selfish one. The Queen told how these exact opposite fish had to work together and became good friends. The story also explanted why there is a white dot on Yang's head, and a black one on Ying's head. You see, after becoming good friends, Ying transferred good into the soul of Yang leaving a white mark but had to replace it with the selfishness of Yang's true heart leaving a black dot on his head. After this, they remained in a pond, called "The Holy Pond", which used to be the ending point of what we now call, "The Nile River."
After many years, re rejoin our friend Po-Wan as a teenager in year 1017. He, Is already king of course, and everyone thanks god to the great generous king they have. Also, when they mean generous, they mean GENEROUS. If a poor animal came to his door for help, food, water, or some spare change, he would invite them in and share his dinner with them and give them a minimum of one gold bar! It was with this generosity, came his poverty. One day, April 7th 1017 to be exact, Po-Wan came by Old monkey Mandrill, but when he went to buy the poor man some food, he didn't have any money on him so he had to share one bowl of fish with Old monkey Mandrill. "Why have I become so poor? I mean, I do what is right, but somehow I'm plunging into poverty!" Po-Wan asked himself out loud. Hearing this, Old monkey Mandrill said, "Ah, what a fine and excellent question, yet, no one can answer that. Nobody except, Ying and Yang". "Ying and Yang? They aren't real, they're just myths." Implied Po-Wan. "Oh, they are as real as a heart attack, my boy. Why, it is said that they even take the forms of animals." "Witch ones?" Asked Po-Wan. But as soon as he turned to face Old monkey Mandrill, He vanished leaving the rest of his half bowl on the ground. Po-Wan thought for a moment. What if Ying and Yang exist? I could use their knowledge to guide me to what I seek. So, it is with that thought, that Po-Wan Got up, stretched, and started walking.
He wasn't quite sure where he was going. Then, he remembers the story of the Ying-Yang fish his mother told him as a baby. "You must first past the 'Selva Inn' and head straight," he remembered. Soon enough, he came across an inn, the one he was looking for. He stopped in and as soon as his golden furred paws touched the floor of the Inn, the Innkeeper who was a Aardvark said without opening his eyes "Welcome to the Selva Inn sir, may I assist you?" "Yes, I would like to rest in your Inn for a while, I got a long journey ahead of me" Po-Wan said. The Innkeeper looked as if he pondered for a second, maybe even concentrating. He then asked "Sir, I do believe I heard your voice somewhere before" Then the Aardvark opened his eyes as jumped back with disbelief. "The King?! The King has come to rest in the Selva Inn?!" Every animal at that moment, ignoring what they were previously doing looked up and saw the yellow-coated Lion that they called "The King". Everyone bowed and continued what they were doing with a thinking look on their face. The Innkeeper Stop bowing and asked "What b-b-brings the-the-the king to the Sel-Sel-Selva Inn?". "I going to the Ying Yang fish to ask them a question," Po-Wan replied. The Aardvark gasped in disbelief. It took him a few seconds to say something. "Why, your majesty, if you wouldn't mind, could I ask you to ask The Ying Yang fish me a question?" He asked. "Why sure, I only have one question to ask them" Po-Wan replied. "My adopted daughter, Veinte the snow leopard, is in her twentieth year, but has not spoken a word since I found her abandon in the forest when she was little. Can you ask Ying and Yang why is my Daughter Veinte, will not speak a word?" The clumsy Aardvark said. "I will gladly keep my promise." Replied Po-Wan. "Thank you, your majesty, Thank you! Just for helping me, I will let you rest until morn, free of charge." The Innkeeper said. And so, Po-Wan took his free-of-charge rest until morn, said goodbye to the Innkeeper and his adopted daughter Veinte, and heated straight to day two of his journey to find the Ying-Yang fish.
After walking a couple of hours, Po-Wan's feat grew weary. He looked for the nearest clear spot and rested. But he was rudely awakened by whispering. As Po-Wan opened his eyes, he saw two small child gophers talking in low voices so they would not disturb the "Furious Lion". But, as you can see, this plan failed horribly. "Could I help you in any possible way?" Po-Wan said in a friendly voice. The two gophers stopped solid and turned their heads to see that the "Furious Lion" was awake. They screamed, which sounded like two little mice yelling while they ran away from a hungry cat. They ran to a small, broken down wooden looking shack in a open field witch had magnificent soil in the front of it, but strangely enough, nothing was growing. Po-Wan wandered onto the front yard, bordered by wooden small broken pieces of wood. It wasn't one minute before Po-Wan heard "You better get out of my property now, or Else!" coming from the front door. Po-Wan looked at the door seeing the two child gophers with one adult gofer that was likely to be their father. "go away, your not eating us gophers today, tomorrow, or any other day, you filthy, old, rotten Lion!" The father said. "Oh, no, no, no, no. I hadn't come to eat you, I just on my quest to go see the Ying-Yang fish!" Po-Wan answered. "Is that so?" The Father asked with some sense of doubt. "No, Papa! He came to EAT theYing-Yang fish! We only were going to be appetizers!" Said one of the Child gophers. "Ya, Pop! He's a lion, they only want to torture every living animal!" Said the other. "No! I'm not like that! Please, just listen!" Said Po-Wan taking one step back. "Hm…Well, I could let you go…on one condition." Said the Father. "Anything!" Po-Wan answered. "Me, Padre-cariñoso, and my children, el-chico uno and el-chico dos, have been treating his garden with the up most care, but, unfortunately, no plants grow from it. I want you, Lion, to ask the great Ying-Yang fish why hasn't my garden grown any plants?" said Padre-cariñoso. "Alright, I'll be on my way now." said Po-Wan. "You better not forget to ask our question!" said el-chico dos as Po-Wan walked on. And soon enough, They Magnificent soil front yard, The family of gophers, and there broken-down wooden shack of a house, where just a distance black spec upon the orange bright sunset.
Po-Wan Found a Place to rest, Curled up, and began to sleep for day three of his quest to find the Ying-Yang fish.
That morning, Po-Wan woke up and went to the nearest pond to wash his golden locks of hair. He came upon a stream, with a huge cliff next to it. He dipped his face into the water and shook his head and heard something coming. "Excuse me, young traveler, are you on the quest to the all knowing Ying-Yang fish?" said a distance voice that came from on top of the cliff. Po-Wan looked up and saw nothing, but he answered anyway. "Yes, I am" He replied. "Would you mind asking them a question for me? I've been wanting to know something for a long time" the Distant voice from a top the cliff said. "Why certainly, I would be happy to help others." Po-Wan answered. And at that moment, He saw a big, huge anaconda slithering to the bottom of the cliff heading towards Po-Wan. Po-Wan was immediately freighted. The anaconda went right in front of Po-Wan. "I'm Serpiente-espantosa, The great. I rule this cliff. It is called…" Started Serpiente-espantosa, but he was interrupted by Po-Wan finishing the sentence. "..Montaña cliff" he said. "Why, what a smart lad you are, Po-Wan." Replied Serpiente-espantosa. "How did you know my name?" Asked Po-Wan. "Oh, I know everybody's in Sudan's huge forest." Serpiente-espantosa said "every single one". Po-Wan was impressed. "I'll make a bargain with you, Po-Wan, I'll get you across this river, if you ask my question to Ying and Yang for me." Serpiente-espantosa said in a friendly tone. "I want to know, Why am I not a dragon? I have practice meditation, Rage, flight patterns, but still, I have not become a dragon. Ask Ying and Yang, Why am I not a dragon yet?". "Absolutely" Po-Wan replied. "Bless your heart, Po-Wan. Now, climb onto my back and we'll cross the river.". Doing as instructed, Po-Wan climbed onto Serpiente-espantosa's back and they went across the river. Serpiente-espantosa climbed in a tree and rested telling Po-Wan when he comes back, just wake him up, and He'll take him across the back to the forest. And so Po-Wan headed on, leaving Serpiente-espantosa behind for his trip back, and headed for "The Holy Pond" where the Great Ying and Yang were said to reside.
Po-Wan came to a Beautiful spot with a flowing lake in the middle. The water looked like green steaming fluid splashing into a circle that never overflowed. Po-Wan approached the pond and saw two fish swimming in circles. And to his relief, They were Ying and Yang. All of a sudden, in a echoing voice, Ying spoke. "Po-Wan, we have been waiting for you…" then at that moment, The fish Glowed a bright white that Po-Wan had to squint his eyes he didn't become blind. He saw the two beams of light came out of the pond to the ground next to it like two white shiny lightning bolts hitting the ground in a burst of energy. To Po-Wan's amazement, He saw his mother who came out of Ying's lightning, and his Father out of Yang's lightning. "Mom…Dad? But, you died a while ago." Po-Wan said in a nervous tone. "But, we didn't. Our power ebbed away and we had to go back to the Holy pond" Said Po-Wan's Father. "I told you the story of The Ying-Yang fish so you would find us one day when we had to go." Said Po-Wan's Mother. "You see son, Every 100 years, We take the forms of animals and live among the mortals until we can no longer keep our power. Then we come back to the holy pond and restore our energy for 100 years and repeat this cycle." Explained his father. "Now Po-Wan, you came here for answers to questions. We can answer three for you. Before we have to go back into the pond." Said his mother. "Alright, my first question is Why is the Selva Inn's Innkeeper's adopted daughter, Veinte the snow leopard, never spoken a word?" Asked Po-Wan. "Because she first needs to find her true love." Answered his Father. "My second question is, Why doesn't Padre-cariñoso's garden refuse to grow even a single plant?" Asked Po-Wan. "Because, there is a great treasure underneath the magnificent soil he has prepared. Padre-cariñoso needs to remove half that treasure, and every plant that is placed in that garden will grow to be extremely healthy." Answered his Mother. "My final question, is…" Started Po-Wan, then he remembered that his parents Ying and Yang only allowed him to ask three questions. He had one of his own, but he had Serpiente-espantosa's question left to ask. He didn't want to break his promise, especially to a big anaconda such as Serpiente-espantosa. So, he cleared his throat knowing that he'll never know the question to his own answer that he came here for in the beginning. "My final question is," he repeated, "Is Why hasn't Serpiente-espantosa turned into a dragon even though he has trained for prepared for it his entire snake life?" Po-Wan asked. "Because he has five Diamonds and five Pearls on his forehead." Started his Father, "He must remove all of them and he will become a dragon" Finished his Mother. And so, with his last question answered, Po-Wan's Mother and Father, bowed to their son and his Father, with another blast of shiny white lightning, transformed back into the Yang fish and returned to the pond. Before his Mother did the same, she said "Even thought your question wasn't answered, your quest was not in vain" and with a flash of light, she was back in the pond as the Ying fish. Po-Wan left the pond, and pondered what his mother said before she went back into the pond. Coming back to Serpiente-espantosa to take him back to the forest, he ran through his thoughts to find out what she meant.
After he was safely across the river, he told Serpiente-espantosa what he had to do. Doing what Po-Wan said, he removed the priceless diamonds and pearls from his forehead, and in a matter of a few seconds, Serpiente-espantosa turned into a huge dragon. "Thank you, Po-Wan. My gratitude is beyond what you can imagine. Here, I have no need for these things anymore, so, they are yours." He said and dropped the diamonds and pearls that once resided on his forehead into the paw of Po-Wan. "Thank you, kind serpent," Po-Wan said leaving Serpiente-espantosa to enjoy his new life as a dragon. He came across the broken down house that belonged to Padre-cariñoso, and knocked on the door. He answered the door. "Well, Well, Well, if it isn't that Lion. Did you ask my question?" Padre-cariñoso asked. "Yes, I did. And the Ying-Yang fish told me there is a treasure under your front yard, and you must remove half to grow your plants." Po-Wan answered. "Is that so? Well then, El-chico uno! El-chico dos! Lets get digging!" Padre-cariñoso shouted inside the house. Soon enough, half the underground treasure was removed, and every seed that didn't grow before sprouted into magnificent flowers. "Wow, Lion! You were telling the truth. As a token of my gratitude, you may take this treasure we dug up and spend it however you like!" Padre-cariñoso said in a pleased voice. Po-Wan walked on with his Diamonds and Pearls along with his treasure and moved on. Po-Wan came across the Inn he stopped at on day one. He went to the Innkeeper, but before Po-Wan had time to say one word to the clumsy Aardvark of an Innkeeper, Veinte said in a joyful voice, "Po-Wan your Back! I'm so happy to see you again!". Seeing his adopted daughter finally speak a word, the Innkeeper said, "Po-Wan! You helped my daughter actually speak! As my gratitude, I'm giving you the right to marry her. Po-Wan blushed as he looked at his future wife. He came out of the Inn, bringing along his Diamonds and Pearls, His treasure, and his New wife, Veinte. Then at that moment, Po-Wan finally understood what his mother meant by his journey didn't end in vain. Po-wan, The generous king, was rich once more, married to a beautiful wife, and finally took his place as the son of the great Ying and Yang.

    The End

P.S. This took up five pages on Microsoft Word. All of this is from scratch. By the way, The names except Po-Wan's are spanish.

P.S.S. Be as brutual as you can with still following the "Constructive criticism" rule.

    Brutal? Okay!

Ever heard of spacing, might I ask?

wow is gud nothing bad there

    C+C guys... D8

Well, first... Make use of the intro/enter key. Ideally, only one character should be speaking per paragraph. Begin a new one if the topic changes, and double space between them.

It's very difficult to read through the story thoroughly the way it is, so I'll throw a deeper review when you fix the spacing issue.
