2nd Gen Charizard Question..

    Why can't my Charizard (On Red) learn HM02 (Fly)?
     
    Because that's how game mechanics work. Trade it over to GSC (or possibly Yellow) and it can.
     
    OK then, I was reading on Psypokes and it said that it COULD learn it... I guess not :).
     
    If you have access to the other games you might as well trade it over, teach it and trade back.
     
    Well, yellow is probably the only version...though I might need to restart (was planning to anyways). I DID have Crystal... although I found out today that it was corrupted :'(.

    I need a moment :'(...... now all I have left for GSC is Silver...
     
    In yellow they changed what attacks pokemon could learn. Pikachu learns tail wip, Metapod learns Harden by level up and Charizard learns fly by HM and many other changes.

    If I remember correctly, you can't trade backwards that way...
