Hi Everyone. Im a Newbie as you can tell :D . *waits for the welcoming mob*
anywho, i came here simply because i heard it was one of the better forums around and seeing as i share the same opinions as DeltaSuicune as far as forums are concerned, it also influenced me to come here.
now let me tell you a bit about myself: my username came about a good 6 or 7 years ago way back when i was one of those newbies who had a gif-tacular geocities site. the name "Vchat" was of a very popular 3D Chat program created by Microsoft. back when Microsoft still supported it and ran their own chat servers, the chat rooms were packed constantly. there was a good 30 or 40 people in a single room at a time. now my username didnt come about there. about a year or so after finding this fabulous chat program and falling in love with it, Microsoft completely disbanded all support for it including the puclic severs. now one nice thing about Vchat is it works seamlessly with any ordinary IRC server, just that those not using Vchat get a bunch of gobbledy gook which is the code to indicate people moving around in the room. anywho, because of this ability, Vchat has continued for a while, although very dormant. in fact you can still find some vchat rooms out there today in some obscure places.
but once all that support ended, i changed my name to Vchat20 in rememberance of the original Vchat.
now, where did my Pokemon fascination start? let me enlighten you (grab a chair. this one is gonna get long ;) ): like many people, im one who doesnt go gung ho into every fad in sight. while i may be interested in them, i wait and see how things turn out. Pokemon was this way from the start. eventually though, with every kid at school having pokemon decks and my brother being engrossed in anything pokemon, i decided to give it a go. neeless to say, this is where i started. i started out mainly with the trading cards and the show. the trading cards i mainly kept for collecting purposes. i ever really played the actual game much. and the show i watched just about every time it was on. needless to say, that got a bit old and my interest dwindled down. but after a couple years (dont remember the exact time), something else came up with rekindled that interest. i dont remember the exact details, but what ended up happening was i traded in my original gameboy for a gbc. i had some money left to buy a few games and my brother suggested i get pokemon crystal which just came out i guess. i got it and played it alot it was so fun. since then i have also been able to get a gba and pokemon sapphire which was also fun. and now i have a DS and am anxiously waiting for the next RPG in the series. now, being 17 years old (18 in may), i am more into the video games than anything else. the show i rarely get to watch any more, and i have no clue where my cards are.
enough about me now. wheres that welcoming mob.....err party? :D
