is it possible to clone without the gts thing which can ruin the game and doesnt work all the time, and without a cheat device?

You can use the emerald cloning glitch for the first 386, but nothing beyond that.

There is another cloning glitch that I've unintentionally executed 3 times in my whole life... So yeah, you can tell it sucks and I don't fully know how I did it. -.- It's during the normal trading with friend codes on wifi (haven't tested the union room trading but it should be the same thing). It's the same concept when in the old days you took out the link cable at the right time during the trading procedure and one pokemon was erased from existence and the other was duplicated. So if you don't know about that, this way will not make sense. Idk when that "right time" is in the D/P games (I guess slightly before the saving part, turning off early at the sprites shifting around resets you) to lag/shut off the game but it can be done somehow. It worked better when my internet was laggy so if you guys are bored, go experiment with some beavers. =D

I only know the GTS glitch for D/P, sorry. But like someone mentioned, you could always try the Emerald cloning glitch for Generations I, II, and III.

Don't think there are any other ways and I have never heard of GTS harming anyones game. Old wives tale there possibly?

I think there is another way. Me and my friend were trading via w-fi, and i got the pokemon. Then when it was going back to the trade screen (the one with a clock) we both got blue screens saying we were disconnected. When we checked our party, there was two of one of the pokemon but none of the other... we still don't know how to use it again... but... just thought you'd like to know....

Cloning is not something legitimate so don't expect easy and safe ways to do it. Anyway, the GTS glitch can be tricky if you are not used to but it can't ruin your game, the same way cheating devices don't cause damage if you know how to use them.

Well, I never knew about that trade thing TB mentioned, but I guess it can work but it seems even trickier than the other two methods.
