I'm my hack, I was making changes to the museum in Pewter City in Pokemon Fire Red. During this process, I used Advance- Text to change what the Move Tutor(he teaches Seismic Toss) said(but I never changed any of his actions). I then changed the position of the Tutor on the map(using Advance Map 1.92). When I tested it out(using Virtual Boy advance), something strange happened.
After the move tutor taught the move, a strange arrow appeared to his left. Then when I pressed my keypad keys(in order to move my character), the move tutor guy moved instead and the main character sprite stayed still.
That totally freaked me out and I have no clue how to fix it.
(On the bright side, if I find out what's causing this and how to control it, it'd make a really cool feature for my rom)

Did you change the movement of the NPC character in A-Map? Sounds like the 'look down' possession glitch. If that is the case just change the look down to 'no movement'.

It worked! Should I completely stop using look down and use 'no movement' instead in all instances just to be safe?

Also, for those who said A-Text is the problem. Is there are reason why I shouldn't use A-Text? I know that the repoint feature is dangerous. But I don't think it's dangerous if you enter a different message with the same amount of characters.

Thanks Mana for actually giving a solution to the problem. I'll mark this thread as solved.

I'll just quote myself from another thread who had the same problem. :3

Just don't select the [Look Down] that is above the [Hidden] because that one always glitches up. Dunno why it's there in the first place, but eh.
