hey peeps, I probably like you hate it when your winning a fight only to lose to a large number of critical hits, or when a weak attack like aerial ace scores a crit and completely wipes out your main sweeper or counterer, i would like you guys to post your feelings about these,,, I personaly think its annoying and it spoils my game, i think they should either take them out of the game or make them alot rarer, pleas post your thoughts!!! Thanx

If they were rarer they'd be unexpected and therefore more annoying, I expect.
I've always thought they aren't common enough as they never impacted on my gameplay.

Critical hits are a staple of every good RPG. I couldn't imagine playing an arpuhgur without managing to kill an enemy with more force than necessary, or always healing up because I'm worried that the opponent might land a critical. That would just be boring. :P

If they were lower, you'd still complain about them anyway. :L

Agreed. One should always assume Murpheys Law, and never put all of their eggs in one basket. I personally like the concept. It keeps it intresting.

For me, I have a problem with getting critical hits when I'm trying to catch something. It's caused a LOT of soft resets...

Then of course there's the Battle Tower, but there you should plan on the CPU getting a critical hit 75% of the time anyway.

The only time it's annoying is when you have a freshly hatched pokemon and you want to battle some wild pokemon so you go to route 201 and those stupid bidoofs get critical hits on every STAB-boosted tackle. It doesn't sound like much but a level 1 pokemon doesn't have enough HP to deal with it.

And this is why it is a good idea to leave freshly hatched pokemon in the day-care for a bit, before trying to train them. Bidoof are a little evil with those STAB tackles though. :/

I personally like Critical Hits. I only notice really when they work in my favor anyway.

Critical Hits are just part of the game, I guess. Yes, they're annoying when you're suddenly destroyed or when fighting a Pokemon you want to capture... But when your Pokemon get them in a proper battle, it's great!

For example, I once played a Kanto game (I forget if it was the originals or the remakes) and my Bulbasaur/Ivysaur/Venusaur always got Critical Hit when using Razor Leaf. I think it was that move, anyway. It was a Grass Type move, I remember that much. I don't remember it not getting a Critical Hit with that move. It was great!
So in that instance, one can say that Critical Hit was not a pain. ^_^

yeah, i agree that critical hit in battle frontier in RSE are so common, with a scope lens holding, my pokemon rarely achieve one but pokemon of other trainers can hit me 2-3 critical hits per battle, but i don't think they should make it rarer

CPU's get them almost way too often in my LeafGreen. It's rigged, I know it. o_o

But seriously, I tend to get crits when I don't need them whatsoever. Like just today, I was playing Battle Revolution, and got a critical hit with Aqua Jet on something that lived with a Sash. -_-

That makes sense seeing how Razor Leaf has a higher Critical Hit ratio than other moves.

Critical Hits are annoying but I agree with jigglyppuff8 about it being a staple factor. The only times I ever lose in-game are due to Critical Hits which really peeves me off especially when I have my Curse Bibarel fully set up.
