Daily and Social Media Team Applications

We're recruiting for two of our staff teams!

We have PokeCommunity Daily - our webzine for articles about all things Pokémon. These have included guides on game mechanics, news articles, deep dive analysis articles, opinions on various parts of the franchise, and more lighthearted articles like a guide on PokéHusbands.

We also have our Social Media Team which we are looking to reboot! Current platforms we are looking to bring back to activity include our Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram pages. We currently have over 3,800 people following the Twitter page, and over 800 following the Instagram page. Additionally, we're looking to start our Bluesky page - with Mastodon and other platforms to be considered if our new team wants to work on those platforms. We highly encourage you to apply! Experience is not essential - just your time and dedication!

What do we want?

Daily: We're looking for writers and editors. We're open to all ideas in regards to topic, but are especially keen on creative articles and featuring cool fanworks by members of PokeCommunity! We're also looking for staff to help port over member's art galleries or fics across to PC Daily as an option to showcase their work. See our article for more details.

• Writers: we'd like an article written every two months, alongside regular participation in article brainstorming discussions among other tasks depending on current work.
• Editors: on average one proofed article each month, alongside participation in article brainstorming discussions among other tasks depending on current work, is expected.

Social Media: The main responsibility of Social Media Team members is:

• To locate and share quality memes, artwork, and other content on FB/Twitter/IG/Bluesky
• To engage with people on our social media platforms. This could be done via quizzes (e.g. Who's That Pokémon) or simply responding to comments/Direct Messages/etc.

As a Social Media Team member we request you use your best judgment on whether certain content should be promoted on our platforms. You will have to write up the post, include relevant images, and credit all fan content creators if their work is used. As a baseline, we'd like a minimum of 3-5 posts per week, per platform, by the team collectively (not per staff member!) Many platforms may share the same post.

For both teams, you will be required to involve yourself in discussions related to your platform on the Staff Discord server as well in the staff forum sections.

We're also looking for people to create art for both Daily articles/pages and SM posts! If that is something you'd like to do, please note it in the application form. Artists are not required to also write articles/social media posts.

When is the deadline?

We'll continue accepting applications until we find enough fitting applicants to bring onto the team, so that could range from a few days to a few weeks (or possibly longer). For that reason it's best to get your applications in as soon as possible!

Final notes:

While we are currently actively seeking staff for both areas, we may require more in the future, so if you don't get selected this time around... you're not out of the running forever.
