Ever since GF introduced a day-night cycle in gen 2, time based events have always been a staple in Pokemon games. Be it Berry growth, Seasons, Clefairies dancing at Sunday midnight on Mt. Moon, rain changing its location depending on the time and day, friendship evolution during certain times, etc.

So, what's your favorite time based gimmick in a Pokemon game? What's your least favorite one?

I feel like the odd one out in the way that I never really paid attention to any of the day/night gimmicks. I thought they were really neat, but haven't really paid attention beyond that. :x
Don't feel too odd, because I'm the same way.

While I did know about the time events, I didn't really do anything with them. Even when younger, I just played the game whenever I could, and did whatever was available during that time period. If I missed a wild Pokemon or an event, then oh well. I just had to try again or get it some other time.

So I have never seen the dancing Clefairy.

I thought time based evolution was a cool concept. Like with Eevee evolving into Espeon in the morning with friendship and into Umbreon at night with friendship. Pretty creative.

...Why did I not know about the dancing clefairies, I would have gone to see them otherwise. D: D: D: Or maybe not, even if I know about such things they will always slip my mind and then I'll never actually get around to looking for them.

But it was berries for my favorite. I actually liked growing berries (need more berries for my collection yo), even if I do always...kind of...forget to check them after, whoops. That's why I was sad to see the battery in the sapphire game here go, means that's one thing I won't be able to do it there anymore. :P Seems silly, I know.

And then while I like the idea of time-based evolution, it's far from my favorite part of it. Although to be fair, most of that dislike is from trying to evolve my eevees back in gold, and most of those problems were from them not being happy enough than the time of day. Still, would have preferred only having to pay attention to one factor, not two.

MUsic! The OSTs from Sinnoh games are gold.

As a child I loved Espeon and Umbreon, so I'm glad about this feature when it was introduced in GS.

I don't know why, but I've always like the day-of-the-week siblings from GSC/HGSS. It probably has more to do with their names, but I liked chasing them down. Most of the time based stuff is hard to keep track of. Like that Mandibuzz in BW2.

But I will say that I don't like time based evolutions. I want my Pokémon to evolve when I decide it should, not the clock.

I like the simple fact of having Pokémon only showing up during the morning/day/evening and evolutions based on that. Dancing Clefairies were definitely a bonus though.

honestly I was never into the day/night feature. I found it really annoying having to wait until a specific time just to catch certain Pokemon. I remember on silver I set a random time because I was just like "whatever" and it ended up being set so it was almost always daylight when I could play it. I would have to sneak my gameboy really late at night just to capture the nighttime pokemon.

The only thing I ever really use the feature is if I'm trying to evolve Eevee into Espeon, and stuff like that. The Evolutionary thing is neat.

If it counts, the Drifloon showing up at the Valley Windworks on Fridays in 4th Gen was super cute. Also the Honey Trees, as they were time based, too. I remember slathering Honey on a tree and the next morning before school I'd check them for Pokemon!

I absolutely loved how Pokemon appeared depending on what time it was. It was an awesome addition. It was annoying how you must wait till day to catch certain Pokemon but Hoothoot appearing at night only made sense and felt more realistic. Dancing Clefairies tho <3
