6th Gen Dexnaving Shiny Hunters

I need your help..
You see, on my instagram, someone actually has a lot of faith in me - and thinks I can dexnav a shiny pokemon..

Out of all of my shiny catches (I think 31 or so), I've never dexnaved for a single one. And..I'm a bit skeptical..
I'm glad there's no longer a "chain" to it, I used to hate battling all them things..But I feel as if it's hopeless for me to even try it (again) since I don't have a Shiny Charm..

Everyone I've seen so far who has dexnaved a shiny say they've gotten it before 100 encounters - but whenever I ask if they have a shiny charm, they say yes..I don't have one, lol..

So, I mean honestly - my question is, is it kind of worthless for me to dexnav without a Shiny Charm? I've dexnaved hundreds of times each, and have gotten nothing out of it.

hey yah it works forsure i dont have the carm either and im about 300+ pokemon away from the damn thing but ive still gotten a fair bit growlithe ,venomoth ,pinsir,tyrogue and shellos shellos took just over a 300 chain but the rest were around 150 it just takes alota time im still trying for absol last chain i had was over 300 and nothing but if u wanna trade just to get closer to the shiny charm might help us out

I did it but even with shiny charm it took me like 300 give or take

I've dexnaved with and without the shiny charm. And I've gotten some ask little as 50 and some as much as 500.
