Ok, this thread is just asking opions. I have allready decided not to return to school. I just need to know If I made the right choice....

Allright little more then 4 years ago my mom started having "problems" be medical, mental, anything. So becuse of that we had to be constently moving around america to find her doctors and other stuff. I had consteally been getting into fights at my school's, most of the time it wasent my fault. Most of the fights were becuse people would make cracks at me becuse of my race...so as you can see this became sort of a problem for me. So adding this to my mom unstable metal and phsycall conditon kinda messed with her a lot. Then in novemeber of last year my mom was sent to a "hospital" she was tricked by her doctor into doing it...took her a while to relize it though.
During her stay in the "hospital" I was arrested once and kicked out of my aunts home where I was staying so I had to start living on my own and I also got into 7 fights during the last semester. Now skip ahead a few months and a few more messy details. I just BARLEY passed the 10th grade, I'm working 12 hour shifts each day and with my moms disabillty and child support it's still hard to make ends meat.
I'm surprised I dident do this eariler seeing as how this was heack on me during the school year. SO now i'm going to work untill my birthday in januray when I turn 16. Then i'm going to try and get my GED from there i'm either going to go onto job core or see what i can do from there. This way i'll be able to stay at work longer...I had though about homeschool but it's to late in the summer to even apply so i'm kinda stuck withg thsi choice. The only thing thqat bothers me is my brother did the exact same thing and people said he had great potenall but now he works in a gas station...the only thing i'm scared of is that I'm going to end up like him. I really dont have a choice though. Wow...glad I got that off my chest.

    This soo awful blue... Wow...
I think ya have to think in the way that all choices are right, if ya know the problems and advantages of the choice. If ya choose that, its right, but not always the right can be good...

Ya I had been thinking on weather or not to acutally go thorugh with it, but hey in the end all got to do what you can right? Just whish my english wasent that poor

    Yeah, I think thats it...
    And I still dun know what they have against people that lives on the south... -.-;;

Your living on your own, going to school, and you have a job, that is all very respectable. I think you made a good decision, your thinking like an adult. sorry about your mom.

Ya well my mom got out and now it's kinda hard since she dosent work so i'm really hoping that this is the right choice

The right choice is whatever your heart thinks is best...
Yes, I know it sounds corny, but its true!
If that is what you decide, then I'm sure it's the right decision...

I know I re-read it. If you dont have any other choice, it has to be the best option then...

If you have to take care of your mother (I'll pray that she will recover soon) and go do work at the same time, perhaps it's best for you to quit school and focus on making enough money for your mother's medical care. Also, it may help with your mother's mental stability to know that you won't get into so many fights with the other kids anymore. A better mood always helps with a patient regardless of what illness it is.

I don't think that you should worry about your future too much in this situation. It's very common nowadays for adults to step into school again in the future to further their learning, which is an option for you in the future. For now, focus on taking care of your mother along with your brother.

Yep and it's not like my brother helps out hes 24 the least you think he could do was vist? But then again thats way the heack on the other side of the country! WEll it's not like I was going to be able to go to college at all so I guess I can say this is, if not a good choice then at least a stable choice at that

yes. your doing the right thing. and why were you arrested?

This sounds like a terribly painful choice to make, and although getting all the way through school is important to your future, it looks like you have to focus on the present for now. The survival of your mother and yourself is the most important thing you need to focus on right now. Without money, you wouldn't be able to go to school anyway, and your mother would likely suffer more, so I think you need to work to help the both of you, even if it means sacrificing education. I'm very sorry you have to make this choice, because you're hurt either way, but I think it would hurt more to go through school without the money you make from your job and with all the conflicts you have at school. I think you mentioned once that you were considering being a chef when you're older, and that's a profession that pays very well but doesn't require education, only creativity, which you have plenty of, as well as basic culinary skill, so if you're still considering that then it's a good career to focus on if you can't go to school. I hope I'm not entirely reiterating what everyone else said above me, it's a little similar but I still feel I need to give the advice or at least reinforce the advice of the people above me <.<

Well, it's really up to you. I can't imagine what you're going through, but whatever seems best for in that your situation. If you discontinue your education, for right now, you can always go back and get it later on in life, if you're willing. Well, um, yeah, sorry I can't give betetr advice, but I am not in the situation. I hope you feel in your heart that you made the right choice.

I have to say that's terrible for you, blue - I know that you're smart and you have potential, but it says a lot that you're willing to give that up to help support your family. Remember, even if you don't finish school now there's time later. There's always time, so make the most of a bad situation and things will always get better. I really hope they get better for you soon, as well.

Awe man, You've had it the hard way.. Your efforts are respectable. You seem to be in a tough situation. School is really important, If I where you I'd stay, but there are other options. It's what you feel you should do. If you believe school will just get in the way, then it's a good decision. Theres many alternatives in the future. Good luck man, I hope this works out for ya. You deserve it..

Ya i forgot about that...that might be a good idea, being a chef infact everyone on my dads side of the family has a profession in cullinary arts...so that might be for me...well that and the whole manga thing, but that wont be for a while. So aside from the chef I guess for now I can also do graphic design which isent so hard and its something I enjoy so might as well try it, thanks for the advice CK and everyone else

Sorry bout that. T__T Quitting school is alright as long as its to take care of yer mum. I mean, school isn't really that important. All it does is increase future chances, but its not a necessity. I think you made a wise choice. Just as long as its not cus you're lazy or anything XP I hope things go alright for ya.

Blue, you made the right choice but as JA said i hope you do go back in the future once your mom is in stable care. I feel sorry for you. My prayers go out to you.
