nevermind this noob, I havent played since gsc, but now its wifi.
But I do remember that while they gained a boosted exp, but they gained stats less quickly.
I was wondering if that still is the case.

The way I see it, yeah the pokemon would gain "stats" less quickly because they would earn less EVs (Effort Values or points awarded for defeating a certain pokemon Ex. beating pikachu gives 2 points in speed and 4 points give you 1+ in your overall speed stat, the maximum amount in one stat can be 255 points and the total max is 510) since it has to defeat less pokemon to level up with its boosted exp amount. However, in the end it if it is trained all the way and earned all if its EVs, it would level out to a nonboosted exp pokemon's stats.

Hope that was somewhat helpful or someone else can clarify. xD

They gain more EXP, there is no change to EVs gained. Seeing as he hasnt played since 2nd gen i dont think we need to confuse him with EV talk yet

So in answer to your question, no they dont grow slower, they grow faster :)

What TwilightBlade meant was that the Pokemon would gain less EVs per level due to the fact that they gain more experience points, thus ending up battling less Pokemon.

If you're only referring to Exp. Points, then it grows faster. About 1.5, I think? Correct me if I'm wrong. I'm 100% sure that they gain Experience Points faster than normal Pokemon though.
