As for me, I nickname all of my pokemon because I think it makes them more unique, however I have encountered some people who won't even trade with me because the pokemon I want to trade have nicknames.

I nickname pokemon by their colour, shape, species what they look like, personality and nature ^^ Sometimes I even nickname them after people I know in rl.

No, just never. I don't think there's a point to it, besides being unique and all... I just like knowing the actual names since I'm somewhat new to the Pearl/Diamond pokemon.

I guess that's fair. Nicknaming isn't for everyone.

It's very rare I use nicknaming in any game.

1. Can't think of anything to call them.
2. Trading demand goes down.
3. Early you can nickname them then they evolve and you want do change the nickname and have wait a few badges for the name rater.
