I do I looooved having 151 pokemon, the old school graphics, the simple playing and the trading with a link cable...

I may be 14 but I'm glad i grew up with these games, it was just so fun...

I got Crystal about one year after i got red.

One of the best things was trying and being able to catch all the pokemon.

Newer games are still good but suck compare to RBGY!

    Discuss!

Yeah, it was because of them that I got into Pokémon. The old-school ones were addicting. XD

I enjoy the idea of the older games, but to be honest my attention span is a little inhibitive of this enjoyment, as the R/B/Y/G/S/C games have no running shoes.

The funny thing about old games like that is you REMEMBER them to be incredible. It is called nostalgia. I promise if you go back and try playing original red through youll be disgusted. The same goes for many games people claim are incredible and will never be topped (ff7, legend of zelda).

In the end, no. I enjoyed those games back when i grew up with them, but they are highly inferior to what we have today.

take that? that wasnt ignorant at all! *cough*

my points still there. the only reason people are attracted to the old games is pure liquid nostalgia.

Nostalgia....... If someone picked up a pokemon red game, had never played it before, they would think it was garbage (in our times of course)

Growing up with a game doesnt make it good.

That's not true at all. I enjoy the old graphics far more than I do newer graphics, so speak for yourself on that.

As for this thread, these kinds of threads have been popping up a lot recently and end up getting locked. If you're fond of the games and all, that's wonderful, but discuss that in the memories thread. No need in having a whole new discussion that always ends up with the oldies vs. new...bies...or whatever.

    Locked.
