    I noticed the last few updates have seemed to make the call quality drop slightly and it just feels buggy. I use it daily to talk with my fiance since he is like 4,000 miles away right now lol I think since they put them new smiles in, the umm, those ones from that movie with the emotions... I can't think of what it is called lol, but since then I have had like minor annoying issues.
     
    Might just be your or your fiance's internet, I haven't really noticed anything and I use Skype every day.
     
    I don't call on skype because it's a terrible program in general lmao I prefer google hangouts. I do use it constantly for mass chatting though and it works pretty well most of the time for that
     
    there was that day last week where Skype died and everyone was devasted. myself included. how can I cope without my fave laptop functions working as they should? how can anyone cope? it was like trying to survive without lungs.

    it's been okay lately tho.
     
    Haven't used it in months. I've fallen in favor with most social networks aside from Twitter and a couple internet forums.
     
    I'm always on it, but I hardly use it, haha. My mother has been using it to talk to my little brother whilst he's been away at College though, and the call quality has been more or less the same as usual, and that's with video feed, too. It's been going through weird patches since that outage recently though, so they might just be fixing up bugs or something.
     
    I use it daily because there are so many people that I'd like to speak with Regularly that I'd be unable to if I didn't. haven't actually made a skype call in months, maybe even years, though.
     
    I used to you literally use Skype all day everyday, I would be in Skype calls for 18 hours at a time.
    I don't think it was healthy.

    Recently, I find myself not talking to people as often, mostly because the person I usually talked to went to boarding school with limited access.

    Mine runs pretty well, as does his so maybe there is interference between us because of the distance?

    Yeah I know about it lol I had to wait to talk with my fiance. Thank God for texting apps haha

    Yeah I didn't think of patches from their crash. I got a new webcam as well but we still have issues here and there. Wifi is worse on either end so we both mainly use it on our desktops.

    I used to use Skype weekly back then but never daily unless I was gaming with friends and talked with them on Skype. I lost touch with almost everyone I used to talk with on there. There's still one of my oldest friends I talk to on there, but I wish he would Skype call me often like he used to. Sometimes I'll be logged in for hours at a time for no reason lmao.
     
    I don't use Skype as much as I used to, but I use it only to talk to online friends, and as I'm never going to show my face on the internet, and probably not my voice either, I never call anybody.

    Anyways, if you seem to be having problems with Skype when it comes to call quality, I suggest you check your speeds using speedtest.net and paste them here. If your speeds are rather lackluster, then there isn't really something that could be done. :/ I use Skype daily myself, and have calls almost nightly and I've experienced no quality issues with the newer updates.
     
    I'm pretty sure I haven't used Skype in nearly a year, simply because I have only one or two contacts on there who I can talk to through other means. xD

    It seems like a really neat tool though, and I might find some use for it in the future :D

    Sorry about that, I thought it was an automated thing like on some other forums. I will be sure to use that option in the future.

    Maybe I need to update. I know once I went a long time without noticing it was out of date. My speeds are fine, I mean it is more than 5 times the speeds I had 2 years ago when I used skype, and even then the skype calls were great.

    You actually reminded me to update skype now :)

    Anyways, yeah please do check for updates. Not always does skype notify you on those but if you go check for them manually they should be there
