3rd Gen Eevee into Umbreon

Hey, do any of you guys know how to evolve eevee into Umbreon on Emerald? I've tried and even though it was night time, my eevee somehow still managed to turn into Espeon.. Any ideas?

Its a conspiricy. Every eevee evolves into espeon. So far as I know, you need to use a different game.
