    I needed to throw this out before I forgot about it.

    The last election caused quite a stir, mostly because of the voting. My idea is to make a subforum under announcements when the next election comes. All posts in this forum go into the moderation queue and stay there until that round of the election ends. This is, of course, to keep the votes secret and hopefully rectify the annoying rivalry that has been present in past elections.

    And of course, when the elections end, the subforum is hidden from public eye until the next ones begin.

    I personally like the idea. Neat, organised, and it seems efficient.

    I really like that idea, i say yes.
     
    I wouldn't mind it. But I just fear lots of members will post over and over and over and over again because they don't see their post. A lot of members are too stupid to know what post Moderated is. I have had PMs from members asking why their thread doesn't show up (that's in a Post Moderated forum). And have had a hard time telling them to wait till a Mod comes on to approve the thread.
    And another thing is, what if they want to change their vote?
    I think it'd be ok in the way of keeping votes secret, but at the same time I just think it's more trouble then it's worth.
     
    In the first post, you could put:

    'All posts in this thread are sent to the mod queue. This means that only staff can see them. Once this round of the election ends, all posts will be made public.

    If you wish to change your vote, simply make a new post. Only your last post will be counted, and all posts before that one deleted.'

    Problem solved.
     
    Yes, i am with this idea, but you know, the name-change thread is proof that people don't look at the first post even if the title says: the name change threadOMG READ THE FIRST POST!!! so it isn't likely to work.
     
    You could also put in the first post 'If you submit the same vote repeatedly, they won't be counted.'

    So it'd be their own fault.

    Last election, people were at each other's necks. The thing that annoyed me most was that people went counting the votes before it even ended, and if ____ wasn't winning, they'd bug their friends to vote for them too. That's why I made the suggestion.
     
    Oh yeah, just to let people know, last election is the last one we're going to have.
     
    So there are no more elections? Pity, I liked campaigning :D
     
    Last election? That's good. They're all just popularity contests and the Prez never does anything.

    It is a shallow waste of time and no one really likes to do it.

    Nah the name colors are fine. XD

    But yea, like you said, the last election everyone was at each others throats. So if we keep something like that up much longer then it'd suck (aka everyone hating each other).
     
    Yeah I agree..I do'nt like it when members have elections.But I wish they had another.I remember on a forum a friend I had was presuring me to vote for him.But nah I did'nt vote for him.:P.

    I think we should have an election.
     
    I'm glad though.

    The elections were a mod drive, just without any power being given out.
     
    Eh.. no more elections? Does that mean Kenny and Katsuro lose their colors sometime this year, or do they have them forever?
    Meh, the idea was a good one Ty. =3 It'd have been perfect if all the right rules were put into it.
     
    Clicking the forum index, then checking the forum leaders page would indicate that they have in fact lost their usergroups.
