3rd Gen Emerald Internal Battery

Hi, my cousin is getting the dreaded "the internal battery has run dry" message. However this is on his Pokemon emerald game cart, so i don't know whether the method for fixing R/S would work. Is there any way to fix this, or is there no hope?

It should work the same way as the R/S ones. It's just the battery inside the catridge that has run out. Replacing it should start the clock again.
