Well this is my Pokemon Emerald team as it currently stands. Once my files stop corrupting whenever I try and clone I'll make sure to give all my Pokemon an item. They currently hold no items other than Amulet Coin and the occasional training period in which they hold an Exp. Share. BTW, can someone explain to me how you know how many points the EV's give. I don't get it. I just give the pokemon HP Up, Carbos, Zinc, etc. depending on what they need.
None of the leftovers are equppid until I clone the one I currently have it keeps corrupting the file for some odd reason.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Gardevoir@Lv40:Leftovers
    Nature:Lonely
    Psychic
    Calm Mind
    Thunderbolt
Thief-what should I replace it with?

~There i no doubt that this is my main damage dealer because 2 CM's and then a Psychic or Thunderbolt and *WHAM*, 1-Hit KO.
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Metagross@Lv55:Leftovers-may give Choice Band if I get it, where is the Scarf in Em?
    Nature:Serious
    Psychic
    Meteor Mash
Take Down-want to replace it with CM but don't know where to obtain it.
Pursuit-Aiming for a Crunch or Bite to replace it.

~Self-Explanatory, aiming for a CM'ed MashGross with the extra Sp. Attack.
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Swampert@Lv87:Leftovers/Amulet Coin
    Nature:Quirky
    Surf
    Earthquake
    Ice Beam
    Protect

~This is the only thing I think is right here, the Nature not so much but I can't breed it because it's male, need Female to breed with Ditto.
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Crobat@Lv62:Leftovers
    Nature:Sassy
    Wing Attack
Poison Fang-OMG, seriously, what can I replace it with, where can I get Toxic?
Bite-should I add Crunch, once again, obtaining is the issue.
Return-Hits pretty hard and it can 1-Hit KO

~Not my best Pokemon but I leveled up this far so I may as well go on, 2nd highest level for non-uber's.
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Salamence@Lv51:Leftovers
    Nature:Hasty
    Dragon Claw
Flamethrower-had Fire Blast but just like Ice Beam over Blizzard, Flamethrower over Blast.
Headbutt-Fairly strong but may need to be changed later on.
Bite-I need Crunch or should I opt for a different move altogether?

~Powerful, causes damage but I'm still not finished... and I'm not sure either.
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Sharpedo@Lv48:Leftovers
    Nature:Serious
    Crunch
    Skull Bash
    -
    -

~Don't have any other moves. It was filled with HM's Waterfall and Dive but got rid of those. Should I add Surf? What would fill in for the remaining spot?
    _____________________________________________________________________________

So that's it. I have a Lv50 Tropius which I use mainly for Fly and a Lv37 Houndoom. This was the very team I used to defeat Steven in Meteor Falls. Swampert basically acted as a sweeper although I didn't use him against Cradily due to Giga Drain.

    Psychic
    Calm Mind
    Thunderbolt
Thief-what should I replace it with?

~There i no doubt that this is my main damage dealer because 2 CM's and then a Psychic or Thunderbolt and *WHAM*, 1-Hit KO.Gardevoir dies too early to try to set up Calm Mind.Metagross could just slam it's face with Meteor Mash and probably 2HKO.Thief should be changed into....Hypnosis or Will-O-Wisp.I would go with Will-O-Wisp for more accuracy and making it's physical defense sturdier.
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Metagross@Lv55:Leftovers-may give Choice Band if I get it, where is the Scarf in Em?
    Serious-Adamant
    Earthquake
    Meteor Mash
    Explosion
Never use Calm Mind or else Salamence/Gyarados will kill you/stat boost while you stat boost.Use Earthquake to kill Tyranitar and other Rock types.
Agility/Shadow Ball-Aiming for a Crunch or Bite to replace it.Crunch and Bite can't be used on Metagross because you can't even get it as a move on Metagross.Adamant gives it more strength to kill Salamence who would otherwise whack it with Earthquake.Agility gives it more speed or Shadow Ball to kill Ghost and Psychic types.
Use Leftovers for more health to live from Salamence and Gyarados' Earthquakes and other common threats' attacks.
~Self-Explanatory, aiming for a CM'ed MashGross with the extra Sp. Attack.
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Swampert@Lv87:Leftovers
    Nature:Quirky
    Surf
    Earthquake
    Ice Beam
    ProtectRoar

~This is the only thing I think is right here, the Nature not so much but I can't breed it because it's male, need Female to breed with Ditto.
You do know that male Swamperts still give out Mudkips even if they're male breeding with Ditto right?Protect should be dumped and changed into Roar or else Stat Boosting pokemon called Heracross with Swords Dance could just rip through with Brick Break.
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Crobat@Lv62:Leftovers
    Nature:Sassy
    Wing Attack
Use Aerial Ace over this so it can't miss on Emerald and to kill Bug,Grass, and Fighting types.
Poison Fang-OMG, seriously, what can I replace it with, where can I get Toxic?Use Sludge Bomb in Emerald Version because Sludge Bomb is stronger and it doesn't miss.
Bite-should I add Crunch, once again, obtaining is the issue.
Return-Hits pretty hard and it can 1-Hit KO Both of those moves are terrible on Rock Types and Tyranitar can easily wall this set and kill you with Rock Slide
This whole moveset is walled by Tyranitar and Tyranitar could easily kill this Crobat with Rock Slide.
~Not my best Pokemon but I leveled up this far so I may as well go on, 2nd highest level for non-uber's.
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Salamence@Lv51:Leftovers
    Nature:Hasty
    Dragon Claw
Flamethrower-had Fire Blast but just like Ice Beam over Blizzard, Flamethrower over Blast.Fire Blast quickly kills Skarmory faster though.
Headbutt-Fairly strong but may need to be changed later on.It needs to be changed.Immediately.Use Aerial Ace over this or Dragon Dance to stat boost therefore making yourself stronger and faster.
Bite-I need Crunch or should I opt for a different move altogether?
Use a different move altogether for Bite,The move is called Earthquake so you can kill Metagross.
~Powerful, causes damage but I'm still not finished... and I'm not sure either.
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Sharpedo@Lv48:Leftovers
Nature:SeriousNaughty or Mild for more power please.
    Crunch
    Skull BashSurf please.
-Ice Beam to kill Grass Types please.
-Earthquake to kill Steel types please.
You don't have any other moves? You need to learn the usefulness of Surf soon. It's the only acceptable HM for battling in Emerald Version and it's recommended on Water types.
~Don't have any other moves. It was filled with HM's Waterfall and Dive but got rid of those. Should I add Surf? What would fill in for the remaining spot?

Either scrap this whole team or just breed this whole team all over and teach them the moves I suggested.

With a CB Meteor Mash from Metagross it will do a lot better than 2HKO Gardy.

This looks more like an ingame team with no goal of being a competitive team. If you want it to be competitive, you'll want to EV train. We have a guide for that in both Compiled guides threads, though the 3rd generation one is what you're looking for. Also, avoid giving pokemon any vitamins until you know how you're going to EV your pokemon.

Also lalapizzame, remember this is 3rd generation where there are no Choice Scarfs, Garchomps, or physical Thunderpunches.

So yeah, I'd read up on competitive battling.

BTW you get Toxic in the fiery path by using Strength ;)

Oh.Third generation.I'll edit my rating. Thanks for notifying me about rating him.

I know jack all about 3rd gen but i know you need to rebreed pretty much everything for the correct natures. EV spreads also help.

You can breed male Swampert's into Mudkip's with Ditto?! OMG! I thought it was female type pokemon only. What about the EQ's. I knew that they would be needed in the team and on Mashgross but where can I get it. I'm not the best with 'remembering' where TM's are. The Swampert I currently run was one that was suggested to me arund a year or more ago. It was suggested on these forums. Ofcourse, at the time my Swampert was only Lv46 so it took a while to make him stronger. I know the natures aren't right but seeing as though I can re-breed males with Ditto, then I'll get onto and try and make this team stronger. Should I add in an Aggron instead of Mashgross? I'd still like to make a Mashgross but if it isn't worth it then yeah, should I go for an Aggron?

BTW, can someone link the 3rd Gen EV thread here?

Aggron Sucks. It's x4 Weak to both Ground and Fighting, 2 of the most commonly used types for attacks.

Metagross is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY better than what Aggron can ever be.

ok, so if MashGross or the normal Metagross doesn't work, what could I replace it with. Remember. I only have access to pokemon catchable or tradeable in-game. I don't have buddies or anything to trade with because none of them play Pokemon and the one that does is a hardcore Noob. Sadly, he is also my best friend but back on topic, what could I replace MG with if I can't get the moveset, I can't get too many EQ's.
I'll get onto swapping my Pokemon movesets and breeding ASAP. Should I just start the game all over and aim for some strong pokemon. I want to say Yes, but it's hard for me because I have some really well trained (in terms of lvl) pokemon and 60 hrs of gameplay. Just the thought. Ohhhhhh. If you're going to suggest please, create a team and a good moveset that I'll be able to make for the pokemon and the natures, so then I can just keep catching early on, not going ahead with 60 hours training and finding out I have to swap.

Lol, Mashed Potatoes! Okay, I'm serious. Metagross is actually better, since this team is more OU-Based.

    Also, levels are irrelevant.

    Gardevoir (F) @ Leftovers ** Silhouette
    Trait: Synchronize / Trace
    EVs: 252 SpA / 252 Spe / 4 HP
    Timid Nature (+Spe, -Atk)
    - Calm Mind
    - Psychic
    - Will-o-Wisp
    - Thunderbolt / HP [ICE].

    Metagross @ Leftovers ** Sup?
    Trait: Clear Body
    EVs: 108 Spe / 252 Atk / 128 HP
    Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SpA)
    - Agility
    - Earthquake
    - Rock Slide / HP Rock
    - Meteor Mash.

    Will edit later.

Missing like 30 odd evs out there dude XD

    152 HP / 252 ATT / 104 SPEED

Ok, so I looked at the guide and I'm thinking abut the breeding and all and this is what I've come up. Most of my poke's are male so the movesets will be easily changed as they actually level up from their eggs. This is what I'mn aiming for in terms of Natures, I'll focus on EV's later. Should I be worried about IV's?

    Gardevoir@Modest: +Special Attack, -Attack
    Swampert@Brave: +Attack, -Speed
    Metagross@Adamant: +Attack, -Special Attack
    Salamence@Hasty: +Speed, -Defense
    Sharpedo@Naughty: +Attack, -Special Defense

    Crobat@Lonely: +Attack, -Defense
    or
    Crobat@Adamant: +Attack, -Special Attack

BTW: I'd like to thank DA for posting on the individual moveset thread for a moveset for Metagross. MixGross didn't sound too bad is relatively easy to obtain apart from Explosion. Here is what he suggested. Changes are in bold, not sure if it will work with changes but I hope it does.

    Metagross@Leftovers
    Adamant/Brave
    96 HP / 252 Atk / 160 Sp.A
    ~ Psychic
~ HP Fire:How do you know which type of Hp it is that you buy from Slateport or does it change randomly or is it standard for all types of Pkmn?
    ~ Meteor Mash
    ~ EQ/Explosion

If you couldn't breed with Ditto then how would you get eggs like a Tauros egg?
    Aggron dies too easily so,no.

Lalapizzame: I knew that breeding with Ditto was possible as I've done it before but I only did it with Female pokemon. I had this theory, that no eggs would be made if you bred a Ditto with a male type, but the female would cause he egg to form. Seems I was wrong so thank you for letting me know.

Itachi 2007: I'll try and breed a Jolly natured Zubat with a Ditto, after I catch a Ditto. The last time I tried catching it with 6 Ultra Balls and I still didn't manage to catch it.

Can anyone tell me how you know whether HP (Hidden Power) is Fire, Grass, Fighting, etc.? Also, is there any possible way of breeding a Metagross or is it impossible due to its Gender (it actually not having one)?

You're welcome.Aww,I just traded away an Adamant Zubat with a 25+ IV in Speed.I could have given you it but you don't have D/P.You can breed a Metagross with a Ditto for a Beldum.

Hopefully getting D/P tomorrow because guess. Happy Birthday to me, tomorrow. Yeah, I'm gonna become a teenager. Back onto the topic. Awesome, hatching Beldum's. Can you hatch a shiny pokemon because Shiny Metagross looks awesome. Or are shines just in the wild? Nonetheless no-one has answered my question yet. How do you know what type of HP you've given a Pokemon? Please can somebody answer me.

    *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Shinies can be got from hatching, but you shouldn't be focusing on shininess because that's useless in battle.

If you know your Pokemon's IVs, then you can calculate their Hidden Power. For future reference, google Metalkid's IV Calculator and be sure to bookmark it.
