Admittedly, I know very little about this anime, as all I own from it is the first volume of the manga (which I never read after my mom found it under my bed the night I bought it), but I'm pretty sure that this is going to be another DVD-to-TV port like Samurai Champloo and Paranoia Agent were. So, reaction, anyone?

It's...going to tank. Just like all the other robot shows on Adult Swim, and since that's where EVA will probably end up, they'll both be gone soon.

Hm! I've been wanting to see this anime for quite a while. Maybe now I'll have a chance to without spending like $30 for each DVD!

A mech show, eh? I have this odd impression that it has fantasy elements in it, which makes it a bit more unique, but you're probably right. Robot shows are a dime a dozen.

    How disappointing >_<

I didn't think this was a mech show either... like CK said, I thought it was a fantasy show. All I know is it has some people with wings and a cat girl.

This is a fantasy/mech mix, it's actually really really good. It's old, but everything about it is good. It's just that in the past, mech shows have failed on AS.

Ah, I see now. It's a shame that it's almost destined to fail; fantasy/mech seems like such a creative blend. What mech shows besides Big O has [as] had? (I just got cartoon network last september, I'm relatively new to the [as] scene)...

Either way, I can console myself by knowing that Fullmetal Alchemist returns next month.

The original Gunam, Big O II like you said, Canidate for Goddess, and there are a few others that always fail. But since there are two mech shows coming, that may mean AS thinks they might work this time.

It might fail, but I used to be a Big O fan I was sad when they took it off the air. But Mihara might be right it will probably fail.

I saw a movie called Escaflowne but I didn't like it too much...I don't know if that show and the movie I saw has any relation to each other. But if they do I am not gonna watch it. The movie didn't appeal to me.

I doubt it'll fail. If [AS] starts checking a wider range of people for the ratings instead of the same group each time, it'll do well. And the series is waaaaaay better than the movie, in my opinion.

My reaction is...meh. XD I have every episode from the box set my brother gave to me for my birthday, so I'm all set. X3 But it would be nice to have Escaflowne on Adult Swim. ^^; Looking at some people's posts, there's not a lot of faith in this anime today...XD I myself enjoyed it very much. ^^ As I did with all the other robot~like anime. XD

Yeah, same here. My friend had the movie and I didn't really like it.

EVA's been confirmed for AS as well... which will tank. But at least you USers get to see it again, as "one of the best animes ever" as described by many otaku. (Note that I put it in quotation marks)

I have watched all the episodes of this anime and seen the movie as my brother owns the whole boxed set. I do agree that the movie was quite disappointing however the Escaflowne TV series is one of my absolute favorite anime shows but that could just be because I'm a sucker for fantasy! The movie was made after the actual series, and I don't quite get it, but I think the movie is like what COULD have happened in the series... but not what happened at all, all that's the same is the characters and most of them don't even look the same, anyways the point I'm making is don't judge the series on the movie. Anyways, I recommend watching this show because I think it is excellent. It's a good mix between fantasy, mecha and a bit of romance (but what is an show without romance :P) Although I must warn you, in my opinion, the main character is an idiot, I love the show but the main character, Hitomi Kanzaki, is my least favorite character! But don't be disoruaged by her stupidity, I still highly recommend the show!
