3rd Gen Espeon and Umbreon

in pokemon sapphire, how are you supposed to choose to evolve Eevee into Espeon or Umbreon? My Eevee ALWAYS wants to evolve each time it goes up in level since lv. 12, but it ALWAYS wants to evolve into Espeon regardless of it's day or night, inside a cave or outside a cave and I want it to be a Umbreon, since I took a long time maximizing its defense and sp. defense EVs -_-

is it always fixed for a Eevee to evolve into Espeon or Umbreon in sapphire or is it something special? :\

i believe the answer lies in the timing. i had my eevee evolve into umbreon during 12:00 am to 12:00 pm, or the morning and vice versa for espeon. check the clock in your bedroom in the game and make sure of the time, whenter it is am or pm. hope this helps

It was timing in GSC, but it's random in RSE. The fact that RSE has a cloc is enough to make them evolve, but the stupid developers at Game Freak made it so that it would be random as to which Pokemon it would evolve into. So even if you train your Eevee up at midnight and it evolves, it might become an Espeon.
