This is a big surprise when it happens without you expecting it, but it was also really exciting for me to hatch shinies even when I was actually hunting for them. Seeing that different color and sparkles was so awesome!

No, lol, never. And I never will. It's never going to happen to me.

Remembers Chespin, Carvanha, Tangela, Sneasel, Tympole, and Stantler. Could have forgotten one or two others. Never specifically tried to hunt for any of them. Bred with a foreign Ditto whenever that was the best breeding option, though.

My only randomly hatched Shiny was a Meowth in Black 2, though I had the Shiny Charm. Hunted and hatched a full-odds Burmy and Glameow. Everything else was Masuda.

I've done the Masuda Method across quite a few games to go after some shinies. I can't remember off of the top of my head all of the shinies I've gotten through breeding, but some that come to mind are Gothita, Eevee, Feebas, and Charmander. Its always so rewarding when that Pokemon comes out a bit of a different color - haha!

Yes, I have gotten shinies from breed hunting, Snivy, Eevee, Scorbunny, Charmander, Sobble, Grooky, Quaxly, Sprigatito-I think that's all of them.

Bunnelby and Magikarp. I know, boring, but what makes both of them special was they were hatched during 2 holidays. Bunnelby hatched on new years day in Pokemon x and Magikarp on my birthday no less on sword. I'd have to ask the question, is it higher chance to hatch a shiny on your birthday in gen 8? Gen 6, I know doesn't give higher chance unless you use a foreign ditto and shiny charm the chances up, I didn't use the shiny charm in either random hatches. I guess tyrogue in gen 2, but I used a glitched ditto from gen 1, so this doesn't really count and wasn't during a holiday. I'll have to add the random pancham egg hatch in go even though it didn't hatch on a holiday.

Despite the fact that during gen 6 I hatched hundreds of eggs, not one was ever a shiny. To this day I have never hatched a legitimate shiny from an egg, and I've even tried breeding 2 shiny mons. It still didn't work.

Never heard of a birthday (or any day) increasing your shiny odds in any console game. Lists a bunch of different factors here: [Bulbapedia link]. Says nothing about any particular day having boosted odds. Must have just been lucky.

I guess it was luck then. It felt like my game gave me a birthday present, but to be fair I've went through a bunch of Magikarp eggs and used a Korean ditto I got on the gts, maybe that still contributed to the increase in reality. I'm 100% sure that it is not a feature in any of the previous games, because new years and ect. are not really tracked by the games. Birthdays are tracked through all gens after gen 4 dppt, but have nothing to do with the shiny odds.

I've only masuda methoded in gen 6. I've hatched 8 shinies.

    Ralts 7/9/16, Miltank 7/10/16, Lickitung 5/31/17, Sudowoodo 8/20/17, Venonat 2/24/19, Gastly 7/8/20, Meowth 7/9/20, Snorlax 9/2/22

Since 2016 I have been hunting for female Nidoran #2 and #3 through eggs and hordes. I hstched about 3500 eggs before getting a shiny female in a horde so I have continued with taking short breaks when I started new hunts and found shinies quickly. I actually found Meowth in my first batch of eggs. Probably up to 6,000 eggs now with another 7,000 hordes hunting for another female Nidoran. Hardest shiny to hunt in gen 6.

Once, just once and only once. It was a thing I started in HeartGold and didn't manage it until Sword when Aron became available in the Tundra DLC. With the Shiny Charm obtained pre-DLC, the shiny Aron came after at least 500 hatches on January 2021. Despite achieving my goal it is still sitting in a box waiting for its turn in my solo challenge around Galar. Did I mention it only happened once?

In 2013, I technically hatched a shiny Magikarp in Pokémon Y. However, I was using the Egg Trick where I followed steps to switch out Gyarados parents to Pumpkaboo parents to obtain a shiny Pumpkaboo instead. It was a bit of an exploit, but does not require a cheating device. Below is my original post from the Shiny Hunter's Club about it.

    Spoiler:

Only once (not counting the odd egg in Crystal), and I weren't even shiny hunting. Years ago I was working on my national dex on X, and out comes a shiny Bonsly. Not among the prettiest shinies but I'll take it.

i used to hunt a lot using the masuda method in SwSh, so yes i do have tons of shinies that ive seen hatch out of eggs

not my favourite shiny hunting method but i got a lotta shinies out of it!
