Everstone is a stone that doesn't let your Pokemon evolve. It was great for those who liked cute Pokemon, or if a secondary stage Pokemon was their fav Pokemon. In the games, did you ever use it? Or you think it is completely useless? Discuss!

The Everstone is pretty much useless. The only time that I've ever bothered to use it was in a challenge to have a team of unevolved Pokémon. Otherwise, it just gets tossed or sold.

I used it a lot when I was still breading stuff on X/OR. It's really useful, as it preserves the nature of the Pokemon that's holding it. Outside of breeding, I really don't see much of a use for it, except if you ever decide to do an unevolved challenge, or something similar.

i guess it's good if you don't want to keep clicking the b button, but honestly i rather click the b button and have my pokemon hold a more useful item for battle. i always end up selling it because of that reason

I've never used it for the purpose of preventing evolution and rarely for breeding. I tend to dump it on the pc or keep it in my bag without using it in generations in which the bag is large enough. In the fourth generation, I had too much of these things thanks to the underground.

I never used the Everstone intentionally. Like yeah, I never did. The only thing I recall even using it for was passing down certain natures while breeding and that's it.

I used it at only one time in the game to stop Jigglypuff to evolve into Wigglytuff, but it is said to say that Jigglypuff defeated easily in Battles so i never use that stone again because of that reason.

I don't think I have ever used the Everstone once. I usually let all my Pokemon evolve, and if I don't I just press B. I wouldn't say its a useless item but I just prefer to let my Pokemon hold something more useful since I can press B to stop the evolution.

Other than the aforementioned breeding purposes, it only ever served any use for people that got annoyed with having to press B when they didn't want their Pokémon to evolve. But I know some people have taken the "Everlocke" challenge, where all your Pokémon need to have Everstones as soon as they can and you can only evolve one after each Gym fight. Maybe i'll have to take that up.

I had my Fletchinder hold it in Pokemon X. If I ever raised a Dragonair I'd use it for that, as well, but I've never gotten around to it.

Pokémon that evolves by level gain more experience once they pass the level they should be evolving at, so why not?

They are also useful for breeding.~

apart from obviously being incredibly useful for breeding, i actually remember using one before during my playthrough as well. for instance, when you're trying to train up a Pokémon to a certain level so it will learn a move sooner than it would if you'd let it evolve, and you train in a high-level area so the Pokémon practically levels up and evolves again after nearly every battle, it's really convenient to have the Everstone to not get the evolution scene every single time (and risk evolving it accidentally when not paying attention).

I don't think I've ever used one after like GSC. I've done runthroughs where I don't fully evolve my Pokemon, but generally those are Pokemon that don't evolve purely by level (eg evolve with stones, or move + level) so there's no need to equip an Everstone. I think they're handy if you want to level up a Pokemon that evolves by level past the level at which it evolves (I'm sure there's a better way to word that sentence...) without the hassle of having to mash B/worrying about forgetting to mash B.

The only time I've used one was on Hornlette, the Rhyhorn that Brock trades you. I love Rhyhorn and this one is my baby. I didn't want to accidentally let it evolve!
