    Hey. I just got back into Pokemon [Diamond] and currently I'm up to the third gym leader. However, the problem I was coming up with is that I was wondering when should I start taking EV, Nature, and IVs into serious consideration for WiFi battles and whatnot?

    Yeah, you really don't need to worry about EV's and those during the storyline, as you're going to be forced to fight some pokemon and get EV's you don't want.

    Yeah, don't worry about it until you actually beat the E4. The in-game opponents aren't really that hard anyway...

    But on WiFi the only way you can win is with EV'd pokes, and for me that meant abandoning my awesome-but-poorly-trained starter... I'll miss you Torterra ;_;

    Yeah, I have a poorly trained Empoleon, but I use it because it's one of my few lv100s.. Too lazy to train a good water type.

    Dont bother worrying about competetive training until; you can concentrate fully on it. Eg if you spend all your time speed training against lv6 zubat your pokes arent gonna be very high levels, which is what matters in-game.
