    So for those that use Facebook, what do you guys think of the news of the up and coming Dislike button? Will you be a user glad to use it, or perhaps not?

    I can't wait for it because there are just some things that you can't help but want to use a Dislike button on it.

    I wonder, when the middle finger will become a thing, considering that even FB is now going down the hate train. {XD}
    It's gonna be interesting watching the drama whores on Facebook get more dislikes than likes. It might actually end enough drama that I might actually use Facebook again xD
    Or it could make things even worse, but with a different perspective.

    If I hate anything in particular I would just give it a thumbs down, but then again I hope it's just a thumbs down button for the dislike

    I googled it and some news sources are saying they're going to add a new button, but that it most certainly won't say "dislike" because Facebook doesn't want to introduce that kind of negativity... which makes sense. The point of it seems to be for posts when "Like!" isn't very appropriate but you still want to leave some sort of mark that you see and sympathize with op. I'm not sure what they could say other than "dislike" (which also sounds inappropriate for that style of post) but I hope they do come up with something decent.

    I don't understand why they can't just have an option for when you make a post to have it labelled as more sombre so the option attached to it isn't "like" but something more fitting so that people don't look like assholes when they're only trying to show support. This is the website that lets you choose your own pronouns (and even add in something not on a common list, iirc) so I imagine it wouldn't even be that hard to let people set what the button says themselves even if that could easily get really silly. (But then... who cares?)

    An outright "dislike" button just sounds like recipe for disaster with online bullying, but take this whole post with a grain of salt because I've never gotten into facebook so maybe I just don't understand its culture well enough. :/

    Mark said himself and possible won't have a dislike button it would treated as isn't good thing for the world and such things may hurt the people or whatnot

    I never use Facebook these days but it is an interesting move to add this "dislike" feature. I know YouTube already has it and I sometimes use it on comments that I'm not a fan of. The question is I wonder how it'll affect Facebook though.

    I'm not really for this, for similar reasons that I'm not for a dislike button here as well. Like if you're gonna agree with something, it's easy to like something and you don't always need to make any extra comments. If you don't like something, you can simply dislike it and not bother explaining why and just potentially look like an ass. I'm a proponent of talking to people about things, not ignoring them or talking at people.

    I'm strictly speaking about like major things here, of course. Like if someone posted some political shpiel. Obviously this does have its good uses, like if someone posts that they're sick and you obviously don't wanna like that, but you'll be able to dislike it. lol But maybe I'm just thinking too much worst case scenario over the whole thing. :P

    A Dislike button? FaceBook could use one, but with people these days, it's certainly going to be abused. I haven't been on there in a while so I don't know about what's there now, but if they really want to update FaceBook, then replace that 'Not Now' on Friend Requests with 'No!' if they haven't done so already. But really, Dislike button would be a bad idea.
