Fallout 1 free on GoG.com for the next day and a half

Wow, how did I never know about this site. They even have Tyrian for free. That's my favorite game of all time. Totally downloading this, thanks for the tip. :D

But it's free... WHY WOULD IT NEVER BE RECOMMENDED?
Because it's not exactly the most accessible game. Kind of hard to get into like many older games.

Feel free to grab it, but it might not be your cup of tea is all I'm saying.

So I just downloaded it... Should I run it as is or should I start digging into the world of mods?

I have no idea how old GoG is, but it's incredibly good. My cousin told me about it a couple of weeks ago and I've been buying quite a few games from it as they're cheap and there aren't any restrictions on the content you purchase as opposed to Steam policies.

The free Fallout Bible that came with the DL was so much fun to read. I thought it was absurdly long at first...and suddenly I realized I had read most of it.

I heard about GoG about a year ago, they've probably been around a bit longer than that.

DRM free is nice, as is their guarantee of Win7 compatibility on some older games.

....are there mods for Fallout 1 and 2? o-o

As for the download itself, I'd get it, but I already have it (Fallout Trilogy ftw!). If it doesn't come with the patches, you may or may not want to look in to getting them.

There are mods for any PC game in existence that had even a small bit of popularity.

FO1 has a high-res mod that's worth getting.
FO2 has a high-res mod and a bugfix patch.
