    Who else here is excited for this potential Game of the Year contender?

    [PokeCommunity.com] Fallout 4

    I'm not entirely sure what to think about the lack of a level cap and I'm dreading the main story, but otherwise I am moderately excited...

    ...to not be able to play it due to not having a strong enough PC or a console and non-dinosaur TV to play it on. Some day, though.......

    Why are you dreading the main story? I do agree with you about the level cap though - the hesitance in choosing a limited amount of perks was what made the game pretty fun in my opinion.

    I'm sure the modding community will create mods to impose level caps. I'm really excited for F4, and it actually prompted me to play New Vegas with mods finally. I actually have an itch to get into modding with this game, as I have dabbled in the past. I love the new crafting system, finally having a use for all those bits and pieces I think will enhance the wasteland feel. Also I hope we get an imaginator mod early because I want to desaturate the world a bit haha!

    If only I was capable of getting it. =(

    I've been seeing the numerous new features of it. God, the weapon crafting's going to drain the lifespans out of many, many players. Glad useless junk has a use now, other than constantly over-encumbering me.

    They're reusing the waking up in a Vault that has (supposedly) stayed closed for the last 200+ years and the missing family member(s) plot setup from Fallout 3, and the fact that you've apparently been in what appears to be cryogenic stasis for all that time implies that Bethesda is blowing a massive hole into continuity because according to the other games, humans shouldn't have access to that kind of technology and if they do then it raises all sorts of questions, like why the government/Enclave didn't use it to preserve some of its more important members. There's also the question of how you even manage to survive a nuclear blast without turning into a ghoul, and the only possible answer to that that I see is that they're taking the extremely predictable 'you're actually an android lol' route.

    All of that just from the first few minutes of the game. I'm hoping Bethesda proves me wrong, but given that it's Bethesda my hopes for the story not being a predictable sloppy mess aren't especially high.

    I can't wait to not play it because I probably won't have a really good PC to play it ;~;

    But for real, I loved 3's story, and New Vegas's everything else. The fact that there is no level cap is a good thing for me, since I am indecisive and can not have to worry too much about picking up a perk I really don't like or investing skill points in some things I hardly use like melee weapons.

    I'm really looking forward to it. However I will probably like Battlefront III a lot more. Fallout 4 lacks multiplayer, which is always my favourite game-mode because it never gets repetitive and is a whole new way of playing every time you go online.

    Games like this are why I spent all that money upgrading my PC last month.

    So, yeah, I'm excited.

    I'm excited for it. Huge Fallout geek, after all. BF even bought my the PipBoy Edition.

    However, I don't think it will hold up to New Vegas' standards. Bethesda has a huge problem of actually trying to make the game world lived in, either through dialogue or level design. And 3's companions weren't anywhere half as developed as New Vegas (and neither were Skyrim's) The Shandification of Fallout basically explains why.

    That said, I'm looking forward to the Power Armor mechanics being added, the new crafting system, the new pipboy (including my own! SQUEE!) and settlement creation. It'll be a good, possibly even great game. But not an amazing one.

    There's a special Fallout 4 Loot Crate coming out. Apparently they've been working closely with Bethesda to create some amazing content (that they aren't telling us about -_-), including "something to help you survive in the wasteland", which a friend of mine is theorizing to be more Pip Boys, since the special edition ones are all sold out. Myself, I want it to include an actual bottle of Nuka Cola, but honestly all I can do is hope haha!

    Great, the game's not even out and we're already discussing its inferiority. That's totally the kind of thing that never negatively affects your opinion when the final product is out!
