No, it's not the GTX 980M. That's a cut-down chip for laptop use, with a significantly lower TDP.
The full fat desktop GTX 980 is now available for laptops, with the chip actually performing almost like an actual reference GTX 980.
I wonder if in the future, NVIDIA might be able to get away with a single variant for every product tier without having to create lesser mobile versions...
