File types

The files that you saved in your computer and such, can their types be changed somehow..?

You can either change the extension or open it in a program and save it as something else like from .txt to .html. I recommend the latter of the two.

Umm..the file type is .PDD can I change it into a picture file?

I am not sure this will work if you try to open it via a regular picture app like MSPaint :

Just rename the .PDD to .BMP or something. And, are you sure it is .PDD and not .PSD ?
Because .PSD files are openable only through photoshop.

Yeah, the program isn't photoshop. Nothing else will open it.

First, are you on a Windows computer? Second, is the file already a picture, but you just can't open it? I may be able to help you after these questions are answered. ^_^

Download Irfanview at www.irfanview.com and see if you can open it in that. Then click File > Save As (or Save, whatever) and choose the file type in the "Save as Type" box.

I did some research and this picture can be opened with:
* PhotoDeluxe
* "XnView" (which is free for personal use) available for download from https://perso.wanadoo.fr/pierre.g/xnview/enhome.html
* Advanced Batch Converter from https://www.gold-software.com/abc.shtml, which has a trial period.

Yes, but those programs can't change the file type. As long as you are in one of those programs you can't change the type of file you can save it as. Thanks anyways.

u need a converter program to alter file types
ex:.mp3 to .wav u can use the musicmatch jukeboxes converter.

Is the file saved on your computer? If it is, you can right-click the file go to Open With -> Internet Explorer, FireFox (Whatever your browser is) Once the picture loads, right-click it -> Save Image As... -> You can change the file extension to GIF or JPG or something like that.

Well it's ok. I got myself the lastest edition of Photoshop, the real thing. Not the trial. I guess I won't really need this anymore. Go ahead and close it. Thanks for the help DEC.
