    Finality

    ?We?re all going to die.?

The spoken words might have had a touch of amusement to it. Or perhaps a bold and audacious serious nature. But words were words. I had heard the little boy say it deliberately to a stranger, almost slowly. Like a trance. Or maybe merely mesmerizing curious and startled people with his chaste and virtuous behavior. However more, his brilliant cobalt eyes sparkled with a melancholic note. Or was it mischief? Frowning upon this incoherent statement, I had the nerve to walk up to the little boy repeating the same sentence.

?Now you know spreading lies isn?t the best thing to do, right?? I asked gently, as he turned around slowly. Very slowly. Only this time, it seemed slower than a trance. His eyes were surprisingly penetrating, yet with the hint of beauty. They glimmered under the sunlight?s glare, the roaring sound of people rushing around with mountains of shopping bags obviously unaware of him.

He shook his head. ?We?re going to die. This is Mew?s warning.? He breathed; a tuft of his blonde hair flying back as he nodded his head, agreeing to his words. ?And you can?t ignore a warning. So I?m reminding them.?

I stared at him, bewildered. Was he kidding or was this perhaps a malicious cruel joke to strangers? My eyes inspected his face. This kid was serious, and he couldn?t have been more than four feet in height.

?Mew?s warning? I never heard of that, and shouldn?t you be going to your mother or a parent?? I inquired, giving him the impression I knew what he was up to. Unfortunately, he didn?t buy it. The boy shook his head bitterly, clenching his small fists.

?Mew?s warning the humans now, because Ho-Oh isn?t happy with the world. Things changed. Too much of them. So I?m reminding them. We?re all going to die, when the sun shines its gold for the last time.? He said it with forced simplicity, and I thought I saw a glint of tears reflecting against his cerulean eyes before he turned away from me. They sparkled effectively, sorrowfully watching the people walk rapidly by. We must have been pretty obscured, for no one had noticed a little blonde boy crying and a tall shabby figure next to him.

I sighed, such a prerequisite action of me required to speak with a smooth tongue, ?Sure, kid. You may be unhappy with society or the numerous evil villains out there multiplying by the second?but Ho-Oh isn?t mad, and we?re not going to die?okay?? I asked with such fake cheerfulness. And I thought it had work as the little boy let out a high pitched and almost congenial laugh. It was the most magnificent thing I had ever heard, a harmonic rapture coming from that one voice. But yet, I was the only one to notice besides hundreds of people rushing past us.

?How would you know? You?re a mere human, a mere creature thought to be dominant over all. Well, you?re wrong,? His voice had suddenly dropped to a dark degree, glowering with frustration. ?Mew?s warning people. Mew?s really trying. But no one listens. That?s the world. And you can?t change that.? And then he smiled gently, almost sadly. ?But the legendaries will spare the innocent creatures, the ones you call Pokemon.?

It was then my mind took a mystifying turn, a perplexing entrance to thoughts that had never occurred before. What kind of child was this, perhaps a prodigy? I hoped so, but he seemed to be distant and lost; an inconspicuous sight to the population. His voice drummed deep within my heart with pounding pressure, but they were simply distant bells tolling nonchalantly to the other people.

?And how do you know this?? I asked skeptically, narrowing my eyes. He regarded me coolly.

?I know. And you would do well to believe my words,? he spoke calmly, as I turned on the logic. It couldn?t be true, and yet something about this child made me think. It was such a tenacious speed of thought, but my adamant nature clung onto the concept.

?Even if it were to be true, what do you expect me to do?? There. A perfect question that would surely throw him off. To my surprise, it did no such thing. Instead, his sad blue eyes stared at me momentarily, before whispering words that froze my heart altogether.

?I thought I should hand you the knowledge.? His voice was deeply mixed with the hint of depression, as he quickly stole a shadowed glance at the sun. The hue of yellow glowed with a fiery temperature, burnt orange flickering off. I could see it was about to descend from the Goldenrod mall. The sunset was coming, but why was I anxious of fear? A fear of the knowledge of death?

?The knowledge? Yeah kid, whatever you say,? I murmured, my discomfort obviously showing. But the knowledge, it was a fascinating thing. Should one predict their death, wouldn?t it have been efficient or so? I produced no sound for a second, before the blonde haired boy?s words continued on its course through my brain.

Something about this kid was abnormal, I could clearly see that. The golden bricks of the buildings reflected beautifully with the sunlight, glinting and shimmering under the glare. The sun was going steadily down, as I thought rapidly. The facts came flooding to me, as I tried remembering our past dialogues and his peculiar actions. Of course, he wasn?t around from here, but to put everything together! It was terribly difficult, but my breath nearly froze after I recovered the remnants of my memories.

    His blue eyes

I thought carefully, and then scraped up his words. Words that could have meant so many things, yet I thought they were lies. But were they? And then I heard his laugh, but it wasn?t a ridiculing or mocking laughter. It was a melodic song high pitched and perfect in length. My hands shook, overwhelmed.

    Mew?s warning people

My feet pivoted around, eyes scanning the large crowd. But he had disappeared amongst them without my consent. My yell for him did not travel very far, but my feet did manage to squeeze through the dusty and prideful air of people walking by without notice.

    Mew?s really trying

?KID,? I practically screamed, searching for that tiny blonde haired boy who had told me such incredulous and unbelievable things.

    But no one listens

My voice got easily drowned out, as my frantic hands were waving to their own futile extent. I harshly collided with one of the brick walls of some random building after not focusing on where I was running, next to an alley. It was then I saw him, a flash of his golden hair before they disappeared through the darkness of the alley. My heart skipped a beat, as I forced myself to pick up the pace. Just through that alley. Just in that alley. I prayed silently, everything going by me slowly.

    That?s the world

I stopped, petrified. The kid wasn?t there, and the last I saw was the faint glimmer of pink before it darted out. And just before the floating cerise left, I could have sworn my eyes caught a pair of sparkling cobalt eyes staring at me momentarily. Slowly. Almost like a trance. Except it was much slower than that. Before they too disappeared, and everything was peaceful and tranquil, serenity blessing the vibrating area. My mouth could produce no sound. Nothing could for a while.

    And you can?t change that

    Mew.

That one simple word repeatedly rang through my mind. The sun was almost down, a blazing inferno that triggered none of my feelings. It was a lovely sunset, and if one would squint their eyes, they could have sought the familiar silhouette of a phoenix flying by. But it seemed much slower to me. Perhaps even slower than a trance, but I doubted it. I watched it fly with ease, dipping its wings to the flickering fire before disappearing. But I knew it would be back.

    Humanity. What a foreign word.

I leaned against the alley casually, waiting.
