    I've long been a fan of the Pokemon Colosseum and XD games and how they put a special spin on the franchise we all know and love. You can still see echoes of their impact on modern games today with 3D Pokemon and even Shadow Pokemon in Pokemon GO. Unfortunately Gamefreak has abandoned the Orre region like the ugly step child that it is, even though we all want to see more with it instead of half baked remakes (looking at you, BDSP). This hack is an attempt to return to the Orre Region in all of its glory and give it the actual "region treatment" it deserves. Yes I'm talking about 8 gyms, a Champion, a professor, actual routes to travel, and so much more! So please, if you've gotten this far, take a look and ask yourself what you can do to provide justice to this deserted wasteland IP.

    In all honesty I've been working on this hack on and off for about a year now and I've come to a standstill. As much passion as I have for the project, the burnout is real and I simply can't finish it (or really make any meaningful progress) on my own. If you'd like to help out in any way that you can, a list of who I'm looking for is towards the end. :)

    Story:
    It's been 5 years since the "Shadow Incident" of Pokemon XD and the world-saving efforts of Michael (who has retired after becoming too old to play Pokemon anymore). The Orre Region, once cut off from all of the other regions, has opened its borders to a mass import of Pokemon across all the regions. This sudden influx of Pokemon has shifted the geological climate, creating new forests, lakes, and environments for these new immigrant Pokemon to live and thrive. Of course, with all of the new Pokemon comes new opportunities for unsavory folks. Team Cypher, long assumed to have been broken up after their mastermind leader was taken into custody, has been seen more and more by the unknowing citizens. Team SnagEm, a ruthless bunch of thieves, still evades Global Police arrest to this day. And now a new villain, shrouded behind his mask, wants to take advantage of this power vacuum and make the world his. Gyms are getting built and a Pokemon League is forming, but no Champion sits on top of the throne to hold the balance of the world.

    The pieces are set, the world is waiting, will you be the one to save the day?

    Not-Movie-Trailer-Story:
    You are a 16 year old child born in the bustling Bisben Town. You and your rival have finally reached the age to follow your dreams and become what you two have always aspired: Prof Mimo's assistant. Prof Mimo has been studying Shadow Pokemon ever since the "Shadow Incident" and is on the verge of breakthrough. Just as he's about to solve the secret to Shadow Pokemon and stop the shadow epidemic once and for all, Team Neo Cypher breaks into his lab and kidnaps him! You and your rival set out to rescue Prof. Mimo, stop the thugs now known as Neo Cypher (how original), and save the Orre Region once more. On this journey you'll make new friends, see familiar faces, find out the origin of Shadow Pokemon, and so much more!

    Features:
    -Shadow Pokemon have been revamped (Shadow Pokemon can now gain experience, level up, and evolve just like a regular Pokemon. A new "Shadow" type will be made along with the "Fairy" type. Akin to Pokemon GO, you cannot capture a Shadow Pokemon in battle but you will be given a chance to capture it after the battle is over.)
    -CFRU Engine (hopefully)
    -HGSS-style sprites and tiles
    -A region-locked Pokedex (Only 386 Pokemon will be available from all 8 generations)
    -Generic stuff (new story, sprites, dry humor)

    Progress:
    -A few HGSS tiles have already been imported, but there are still many to go (the screenshots are quite literally all I've inserted)
    -0% overworlds have been edited to HGSS style (you'll notice in the screenshots)
    -0% of the scripts have been done
    -5% of the maps have been done (3 cities, 4 routes, and 1 forest)

    Help Needed:
    -A good mapper/inserter! (No limit) I have absolutely zero creativity when it comes to making maps and I feel it has stagnated the growth of this ROM hack. All mappers and inserters are welcome; I only have a few requests for each map for the story purposes but other than that, you have free reign to help shape the Orre Region to your liking.
    -A good scripter! (1-2) I can script everything needed in the game, but many hands make light work. That, and I have admittedly been out of the ROM game for quite some time and and stuck in my boomer hacking ways (AKA, I don't know how to use all these new tools).
    -A music maker! (1-2) I have no skills in music and music insertion and I'd like to create a game that feels new down to the music
    -Honestly anything else! (No limit) Like I said, I'd love to see this hack through but it is not a journey one man can take alone. If you have anything you'd like to help with that I've forgotten about, please make it known to me. For instance, I still don't know how to insert CFRU and the DPE without expanding the Pokedex and editing which Pokemon do get added in by the DPE (and at this point, I'm too afraid to ask).

    Conclusion:
    I'm just a silly goofy guy making a silly goofy game. If you want to help that's fantastic, if you want to hover in the shadows and watch the progress that's fine as well. If you just wanted to look at the screenshots, ngl I would be doing the same. Anyone that's interested can message me privately, message me on this thread, or stalk me and show up at my house. I'm not the best at monitoring this on a daily basis, but I will get back to you at some point. Thank you again!
