Ok, my first fanfic, so I will need lots of R and R! P.S. This FullMetal Alchemist fanfic is only for people who have AT LEAST seen the episodes 1-10. They must understand what kind of people Ed and Al are to read it. Also, they must know the basic principles of alchemy. (Spoilers! for people who haven't seen past eppi 10) Oh, and, if I mess up, PLEASE tell me. ^.^

Prolouge: Why is my family leaving?

"YAWWWWWWN..." Nina propped herself up. She was still in bed. Looking up, she noticed the FMA Poster on her wall. There, grinning almost manicly (but not quite) was Ed. She smirked right back. It was refreshing to wake up to an energetic face. Suddenly, she shivered, remembering that snow was falling just outside. "I hate snow. I hate winter. I hate Massachusitts." She scowled at the white flakes falling from her window. "If I were an alchemist, this monotonous life of mine would be broken." She closed her eyes and wished. She wished hard. Just like she did every morning. When she opened her eyes, she just saw the snow. She was still Nina Kiwashami, in her bedroom, in Massachusitts, U.S.A. " Dammit!" Nina sighed. "Why coulden't I have been born like Ed-san?"

"It's lunch time!! Benji, come down here!!!" At least it was a friday, and school was snowed out. Even so, her parents still had to work. She had made a lunch for her brother. Nina noticed a note on the counter. "Brother, did you write this?" The seven year old just shook his head.

"Uh... nope, nope! Sorry, sis-tah." She smiled at him. "It's ok, just eat." She took the note into her room.

    'Dear Nina,

I can not return from work today. I must go somewhere to do reaserch far away. I can't tell you where, or why. I hope to see you again. Take care of Benji and your mother.

    Sincerly, Dad.'

A tear dropped on the sheer of paper. "Is this some kind of sick joke?" The tears were making the paper fragile and soggy. "He... he left us, Dammit!!!" She was interupted by the phone. "Caller I.D. says it's Mom..." Nina gasped the words.

"Sweetie?" Her mothers words were choked out of her. She was obviously crying. "I just got an e-mail from your father-" A gasp of pain escaped her mouth as Nina heard her mother drop the phone.

"Mrs. Kiwashami? Kiwashami!!!" A subordinate of her mother's was trying to help her. Another subordinate picked up the phone. "Is Nina-chan there?" Azami sqeeked out a yes. "Nina-chan, your mother, she..." The man paused to take a deep breath. "She looks as if she is having a heart attack."

Azami hung up. "No... first dad, then mom..." She whispered. She suddenly relised something. "Just like Ed-san..." She then froze. "If so, little brother is next..." Nina coulden't stop herself from thinking. She shook her head.

"Is everything ok, sis-tah?" His sweet voice broke the scilance. "Yeah. I...I'm sorry, Benji!" She hugged him and forced herself not to cry. "Just... go to bed."

    "S...sis-tah!"
Nina just grumbled, "Benji, it's 12:30 at night. Go to sl-" She was fully awake now. "Oh no... No! No god, you can't take Benji yet!" She scrambled into his bedroom. She was horrified with what she saw. Benji's legs and waist were completly engulfed in a transmutation circle. "Dammit, Benji, what did you do?"

The poor child was crying. "Sis-tah... alchemy isen't real... no...NO!!" Nina couldent take it. Alchemy wasen't real. But if what was infront of her was a transmutation circle, and if what was happining was human transmutation, there was one thing she could do.

"Hold on, this might hurt!" Her brother was a fan of robots, so he had built a lovely robotic dog that really worked. She now grabbed the life sized dog and as soon as she did, a blinding white light appeared.

When Nina woke up, her left leg was gone. But she knew she would have to get up. She knew she would have to get moving. To face the gate. For Benji...

The gate behind her was closed. She crawled over to it and weakly banged on the door. "I.. can't do this... What did I do to deserve this?!?" 'I Wished For it' was the only answer she could come up with. The door opened, and the creatures peered out. Those creepy, black... things. "I..." She looked right at the monsters. "I want my brother back! ... Take my arm... It's equivilent trade, right?" The glowing-eyed creatures quickly and quietly ripped off her left arm, and just dropped her there to die. She somehow managed to crawl over to the robotic dog. Here... Benji, please, your soul has to be here, she despratly thought. Using the blood from her own arm, she drew all the blood seals. She hid the last seal inside the robot dog's body. "Please... GIVE HIM BACK!!!" She scremed and pressed the seals. Before she could see anything else, she fell unconsious.

    *-<Central City>-*

A bed. A soft bed. "Home? Am I at home??" Nina squeeked with delight. But she soon relised she wasen't at home at all. "Wha-where am... ?" She heard panting. A doggie? She looked down at the panting beast. But it wasen't a beast at all. It was a robotic dog.

"Sis-tah?... Why am I... in this body?" Nina felt like crying for her brother.

"I'm so sorry, Benji... You.. your a robot dog now... I had to do that to save you..." She winced. "Do you remember the circle?"

The new Benji nodded. "Yes... I thought I was going to die... I thought I was going to die there..." He saw the pain in his sisters eyes. "Wait, sis-tah... why do you look like that?"

Nina looked at her left arm and right leg. Her tee-shirt and shorts put them in plain view. "These are... Auto-mail limbs, I think." She looked at him in sympathy. "You went through more than I did, though."

He only shook his head. "Not the limbs, sis-tah, your face..."

Nina looked surprized. She scrambled from the bed to the room's only mirror and stared, wide-eyed. "I look... just like him."

End prolouge. Creative Critisisum, please. -^.^-

What, nobody liked it? O.o;; Thats ok, More to come anyway!

Chapter one: Those who have golden eyes.

Nina dropped to her knees. "Whu- what?" Not only was her hair a deep blonde color, it was... diffrent. It was... anime. Her bangs crossed her face in a awkward postion that would not uphold in her world (without the use of hair-jell). In the back, her hair was even longer, and it had a strange texture. It... flowed. It diden't look real. Because it wasen't. It was definatly anime. All of it was.

That wasen't all. Her eyes were the captivating golden color that she knew all too well. The eyes had a soothing sparkle. "Just like Ed's!" She gasped in delight and grinned. But they were so... full of life. Not a speck of color was missing from the iris. Not only that, but they were deep. Deep and exiting. Nina coulden't believe all this. Her hand suddenly had a will of its own. It reached out and touched the mirror. It was real. It was all real.

She told her left arm to pick up Benji, but it woulden't move. For a moment, she panicked. Then, she remembered that her arm was going to be a bit heavier now. Using more strength, she forced the somewhat crappy auto-mail arm to move. "This is nothing like Winry-san's work..." Nina thought aloud. She stopped as a flash-back intruded her mind. She remembered the gate. Going through the gate. The black creatures tearing off her arm and leg. "The truth..." Benji looked up at his sister.

With one swift movment of her right arm, she knocked over the tea cup on the table. "Sister, what are you doing?!?" Nina ignored him and brought her hands together. Benji's robotic eyes widened. "Sister, stop! We still have no idea how to use alchemy or how it works!!!" Not heeding her brothers warnings Nina took her hands to the broken cup and it's tiny peices. A brilliant light overtook the room at Brother and Sister saw the cups remains miraculously formed together again.

Nina smirked. "There. I just proved it." Her gaze turned to her brother. "We are now residing in the legendary 'Shambala'."

Benji could only gap in amazement. "You knuckle-head! Why are you so reckless with our lives? We could have gotton killed!"

Nina gave her brother an annoyed, yet intruigued look. "But, we diden't get killed. We survived. And here we are." Nina sniffed. She diden't know if this was going to be a boring waste-of-time, or a thrilling lifestyle. "Nii-chan*, if we can find a teacher..."

Benji barked. "NO! Don't butter me up by calling me 'Nii-chan', and don't go through all that 'lets be heros' crap! I just wanna go home!!!"

Nina looked sadly from the floor to her leg of steel, and back again. "Benji, we are very far from home. Alchemy may very well be our only way of going back." Nina paused to flash a childish grin at him. "Besides, Alchemy is baisicly chemistry, how hard could that be?"

    oOo

Out-side, the hotel's plump land-lady smiled when they approached. "Are you ok, Dearie? I hope my ratty auto-mail is ok for you..."

Nina smiled. "I'm ok. I just want to know that the heck happened..."

The lady frowned. "I coulden't let a nice girl like you and her little metal doggie lie out there in the rain, could I? You were huddled out in the city common last night. I gave you some auto-mail, although mine is sort of trashy. You can always buy more." This was clearly a kind lady. "But I don't know a thing about your arm and leg. When I found you, they were mearly bloody stumps!"

Nina flinched as her new bangs shaded her eyes. She clenched her auto-mail fist. "I thank you for your hospitality and fine auto-mail. How much do I owe you?" She said in a hoarse, raspy voice.

The lady just patted Nina's shoulder. "Nothing, dear. On the house. You don't have money, do you?"

She was interuppted by a loud crash from the common. "Oh dear. A fight? Probably some military dogs arresting an innocent civilian..." The plump lady waved to them. "Your leaving now? You two be careful. Don't get into any trouble down there." Nina nodded and ran down the narrow cobblestone road, carrying Benji in her arms.

"What in the world in going on down there, sister?" Benji barked quietly so no-one else would hear.

Nina simply blinked at him. "Lets go."

As Nina ran into the common, the noises stopped. As she rounded the corner, she was almost knocked over by a large fellow in an armored suit. But not just any armored suit...

"Oh dear! I am very sorry Miss! I should be more careful!" The voice belonged to a child. A child of no more that thirteen years of age...

Nina put a hand on his arm and looked down. "I never thought I would find you two so quickly..." She mumbled quietly. Then, she looked up at him, and in a more cheerful voice accompaned by a grin, she said, "So, having another mock fight with your poor brother Edo-san, eh, Alphonse?"

Before Al could answer, another voice yelled up at her from the now trashed common. "Hey, nice girls don't have call me 'san'!!!"

Nina blushed as she looked over her shoulder and into those golden eyes.

    End Chapter One

*"Nii-chan: Japanese term for brother. I changed it from "San" to "Chan" because "San" is a term of respect, and "Chan" means small, cute, so-on.
