Long ago the world was covered in light. This light came from the sky, from a large ball called the Sun. It seems impossible to most people, but it's true. These days, however; the only light that comes from the sky are the lights of helicopters and planes and occasionally the flame from a Pokemon. But this doesn't make it any less true. So then, what happened? The story has been retold so many times by so many people, that the exact truth has been lost. However, there is still enough of the real story left to get the basic picture of what happened. When light still shone on the planet, there was an island in the middle of the ocean. In the exact center of this island was a shrine and in this shrine was a stone. This stone was the source of all light. The Sun was actually created and powered by the stone. But the stone wasn't limited to just the Sun. It also created the light of the stars and the moon. The stone was called the Sunbeam Stone and the Sun was named after it.
This stone was kept safe by its location and by magic that surrounded the shrine. Very few had ever seen it and none ever held it. It was simply too much of a risk. But, as is the case with most things, there were people who wanted the power of the Sunbeam Stone for themselves. The ability to control all light on the planet would make them the most powerful beings in existence. These people were a young man and a young woman by the names of Elthro and Marissa. They devoted their entire lives to learning everything they could about the stone and devising a plan to obtain it. They were very intelligent and very powerful and eventually discovered a way to remove the stone from the shrine.
It took them nearly three years to complete their plan but they succeeded in taking it from the shrine. But before they could leave the island, they were attacked. The shrine had many guardians that none knew about. The duty of these guardians was to prevent the theft of the Sunbeam Stone. But Elthro and Marissa weren't going to give up their prize easily. They managed to overpower the guardians and continued their escape. Knowing their battle was lost, the guardians did the only thing they could to keep the stone from the two. They destroyed it. A blast of their remained energy caused the stone to shatter into nine pieces. The guardians then sent the fragments to many different locations and hid them in a safe place. By doing this they kept the stone from Marissa and Elthro but they also caused the Sun, moon, and stars to go out. Ever since that day the world has been shrouded in darkness.
People searched for centuries, trying to find the nine fragments, but none were successful. Before they died, Marissa and Elthro left behind a message. They had found something on the island after the stone was destroyed. A clue to the locations of the Sunbeam fragments. Through years of study and research, the clue was finally solved. The answer was quite shocking. The stone fragments had been fused with nine people whose ancestors had been marked as worthy when the stone was first created. It was a last resort plan in case anything happened to the stone. With further research the identity of the nine was discovered. It was all over the news that the fragments of the Sunbeam Stone had been found at last. The nine who had a piece of their stone in their body were sought out. But, as usually happens, there were those who wanted the power of the Sunbeam Stone for themselves. Fear of these people and of what would happen to them if they were found, the nine went into hiding. After all, how would the stone fragments be removed from their bodies? There was no knowing if it was whole or if each fragment had become a powder-like substance and was now coursing through every part of their body.
The nine have recently joined together and are now on the run from everyone. They don't want to be discovered by anyone while at the same time they want to find a way to remove the stone fragments from their bodies. Will they succeed, or will they be forced to give up their lives to return light to the planet?

Name: Kyra Kaikala
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Pokemon: Abra(Tero), Rapidash(Sacred), Flygon(Drake), Dewgong(Yulo), Sneasel(Core), Noctowl(Sariyah)
Personality: Kyra's a friendly girl who usually gets along well with people. She prefers to listen rather than talk but she'll speak up if she has to. If a problem arises she's always willing to help out but sometimes tends to get in over her head. She's a very intelligent girl and a quick thinker which makes a good problem solver and a better strategist. She has a good sense of humor and a better sense of fun. She loves to explore and never turns down a challenge if she can help it. She has a habit of being sarcastic in bad situations but she is serious when she has to be. Though normally pretty calm and mild tempered, when angered it's a good idea to stay out of her way. She tries not to let anything get under her skin and often hides her emotions so that others will have a harder time guessing what she's thinking or feeling at the time.
Description: Kyra is average height for a girl her age. She has a light skin which is a common feature, white hair that falls past her shoulders, and golden eyes. She likes to dress casually and comfortably and her clothes are usually dark colors. Her most common outfit consists of a black shirt with a golden dragon on the back, dark jeans, a simple brown trainer's belt with six Pokeballs on it, and occasionally a brown jacket. Around her neck is a black Pokegrear with a crack on the side. Though it no longer works, she keeps as a kind of good luck charm. She wears black sweat bands on her wrists, a black headband tied around her head, and a dagger strapped to her right leg hidden by her jeans. On her right hand is a tattoo of a silver star that she sometimes keeps hidden with a bandage. This is because it's a noticeable feature and she doesn't want anyone to discover her identity if she's forced to enter a town. This dark attire makes it easy to hide even if someone shines a light in her direction.
Other: Kyra is good with computers and other electronic devices. Her father was an engineer and her mother worked with computer programs which gave her ample opportunity to learn about electronics. Often she would sneak into her mother's study and watch her as she worked. Her parents thought it was funny that she sneaked around so much but she thought it was fun. She would often play that she was a spy and that her mother or father were working on some secret project that she had to learn about to save the world. When she got older she stopped but her games gave her the ability to sneak around without detection. This combined with the dark clothes she wears and her small size, means that she can spy on people without them being aware of it.
