    I checked the rules and I think posting this link is completely legal

    This leads you to the site where there is a safe guide to catching mew. As I said it is safe and your save files dont really have a chance of getting lost. I did this myself and I was darting and shooting across the room when I caught mew!

    Note: This is only for Red/Blue/Yellow versions.
