I recently bought(imported) this game for Gamecube from EBGames.com. I must say it was pretty good. It isn't what I expected. Assuming, it was somewhat like SSBM, I purchased it. However that wasn't so. It was more like a RPG-strategy type deal. The game included a great introduction, which I thought was stunning. Many a-choice for weaponry, but it takes forever to gain levels.
Basically you go around with your Gladiators and travel the "map." When you visit different areas you need to fight in tournaments or leagues to make a name for yourself. Once you gain some money, you can hire people to join your school. Then you can train more Gladiators, hence get more money...
I'd give the game a B-. Some minor things could have been fixed up, but all in all it is still a great game.
