3rd Gen Glitch in Emerald!(Wrong thread?)

Ok, After I hit 500 hours in Emerald, when I restarted my game, something happened. My name, Champ, had been replaced with ",hamp". And all of my Pokemon gained boosted exp.! I checked their OT and it said "Champ". What happened? I now have 777 hours, and I finally got Pokerus.

Did you soft-reset the game or RESET the game entirely? Clarification please on the OT. Do you still have your old character (Champ) or is this with your new character?
