Google+ Photos shutting down August 1st

So, thoughts, as the title said? I mean, I'm not an active G+ user, but I do use G+ to store photos that loop in the background on my Chromecast. I wonder what Google is going to do with Chromecast users that wish to continue usage of custom backgrounds when nothing is actively 'casting.

Does that mean Picasa is also shutting down too? I have a few pics backed up on that website. :|

I don't have any pictures on my chromecast backdrop, so it doesn't affect me as much.

I never used this service, or Google+ that much for that matter. There are still other image hosting services around that are much better and easier to use. It'll be interesting to see what will become of Chromecast as a result of this, though.

Oh crap, really?! Damn it... I've been using it very actively since it's easiest way how to get screenshots/photos from my smartphone.
