Hello! Looks like I'm new here, so I'd best introduce myself, right? Or at least make an attempt to; this will probably be inane drivel, or the rantings of a crazy person. Or possibly both.

I am presently twenty two years of age (which is, like, the worst idea that I have ever had) and am what you might call "in between jobs" right now. Between a part-time job that hasn't given me any work since Christmas, and a full-time job that I'll hopefully do for a few years whilst I prepare for my ultimate goal, which is to lecture at a University. I've only just finished my exams, so I'm still in the process of clearing my head, in readiness for job hunting and writing a dissertation over the next six months, so I have plenty of free time at the moment.

I've been on and off Pokemon for quite a well since it was first released - the anime has been hit-and-miss for me over the years (don't think much of it right now, but I have to admit the next season looks like it could have some good battles) but I've mostly enjoyed the games, although I've never been one for the card game (I found Yu-Gi-Oh! much easier to understand and far more exciting...well, at least until GX was released, then I went off it entirely) or competetive battling.

My interests outside of Pokemon include the usual stuff like anime (got a thing for Suite Precure at the moment, although I have a huge list of anime I like and dislike that would take too long to list here) and video games (especially the Atelier series; playing Meruru right now and loving every second of it), although as someone who grew up watching nature documentaries, I have an interest in the natural world as well. Quite fond of science fiction as well...well, any science fiction that isn't Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, which makes me want to take an axe to the television if it's on.

I dabble in most things creative, but I'm not very good at any of it. I roleplay a bit, sprite a bit, photoshop a bit, write awful crack fanfiction that makes even me cringe a bit, etc. I have ideas, but they like to lock themselves in my head and surface at the worst possible times, and then flee when I actually have time to bring them about. Typical.

I have both MSN and Skype, and I'm here to make friends more than anything else, so if anyone wants to talk, I'd be delighted to hear from you. If not, I guess I'll see you around~

Oh, Welcome to The PokeCommunity, Seiren! (finally, a rant!)

My sister is 25 and has no job other than managing a facebook/twitter account for some celebrity. :(

I've been into Pokemon for 13 years, and I got into the anime, the cards (but never properly played the game), and the games. I never got into Yu-Gi-Oh. :)

My interests outside of Pokemon personally include reading, drawing, music, some random games, tending to my garden, running, swimming, and being with my friends. Do you, by chance, like Star Wars? *eyes sparkle*

Well, you'll be pleased to hear that we have things here at PC that will hit a homerun in the ballpark of your interests; we have a RP corner, an Art Gallery for all things art, which includes pixels and I'm sure stuff like photoshopping, and we have a fanfiction/writing section! Don't worry, I'm exactly like that; I have lovely ideas randomly...until I go to write them down.

I have MSN and Skype as well, but I'm uncomfortable sharing them in this thread. I have my MSN username somewhere on my profile.. :D

Check out the New User's Hangout to make some new pals, if you're interested!

Also, read all the rules and whatnot before doing anything else here, if you haven't done so. Contact staff members with any questions.

Hope to see you around here and hope you enjoy PC!

A wall of text! That's really impressive. I wish I were that enthusiastic with my own introduction thread back then, haha. And no, it's not at all silly or crazy to make rants like this at all.

Twenty two, huh? Hmm. I can imagine it being tough but, I think it will be an okay time to live, regardless if you still have to deal with the massive shift from here to there. Good luck with your dissertation, and I do hope you get around the work you set to dedicate yourself to! I'm sure you'll get to lecture at a University eventually.

It's great that you've enjoyed the games, we have fairly active sections for B2/W2 (to speculate among some of the more enthusiastic members), B/W, the Fourth Generation games-- HG/SS and DPPt, RSE and of course, the first two generations. Also we have the Gaming Central plus the General section, the former discussing in-game topics that encompass all generations while the latter taking up the franchise in general. So if you ever feel like talking about what the forum built itself upon then go right ahead.

Although I guess you'd be smart enough to know all that the forum offers eventually. I do wish you channel your anime interests into our Japanese Entertainment section, because that section will appreciate the boost in activity. Never heard of Suite Precure, but it sounds interesting enough to check out! We also have a Video Gaming section if you're up to what it has there.

About creativity, I'm the exact same thing. Although the forum can help people like us improve, it's still okay to be the typical. It's one more characteristic to share and joke about, haha.

Anyway, I feel glad that you're here now and you've got this intro thread over with. Thank you for deciding to join, Seiren. I hope you feel welcome here, 'cause if you do and you make it a point to enjoy your stay here, you'll surely meet lots of people around this community. And even make friends that will truly last. I do look forward to seeing you around and maybe have a few conversations around here (I also have MSN and a rather inactive Skype account at the moment) so yeah. Plus you should follow what Jay pointed out, don't hesitate to contact staff with the bold usernames if you need help. Welcome to the forums! And have a great time.

Hi Seiren, nice name you have!

I'm 19, a female from Australia and I have been a Pokemon fan since the series came to my country.

Don't let my avatar/signature fool you, I'm just playing a joke.

I have so many internet communication sources including loads of forums (Marriland, Serebii, Ever Grande just to name a few). I also have mod/admin positions over at two other little-known forums, as well as Twitter, Facebook and Tumblr pages.

Sorry, I don't have Skype yet but my brother does.

So, what are you looking forward to at PC? One is most likely to find Hikari (that's me) in the Trivia sections.

I request that should you want to talk, shout out a VM to me if you want to be friends. And if you have a question, contact the staff!

    - Hikari10, One must not stare at her avatar...

Well, first off, thank you all for the welcomes! As well as the suggestions for where I should direct my attention; this is a pretty big place, and it's a tad overwhelming, so I appreciate the nudges. xD

I do indeed! I didn't go much on the new trilogy of films, but I love the originals, and I've read a lot of the expanded universe novels set around and after that general time; the Thrawn Trilogy in particular is my favourite, if you've heard of it~

To be honest, so am I; self-introduction is always the most difficult part of it, especially when I see that everyone else has written maybe one or two lines and I've got entire paragraphs to share by comparison. xD

I'm not entirely sure where my activity might concentrate itself, actually; I'll check out the places recommended to me, and I'll see where I settle. I might find myself a mentor in the meantime, just to make sure I get a fuller perspective of things~
