Right ok so firstly: I'm happy to judge for this, I've not had huge amounts of mapping expertise but I have done a fair bit and think I could judge well.

Secondly: I would say like a secret base/area as it's a lot easier and tilesets I imagine are more accessible for something like that.

Thirdly: How will we be looking to judge it? Will we choose a few criteria to go by, or just provide our thoughts generally on the map and give one score?

From previous map offs, maybe something like this?

    Layout/Details
    Accuracy (tile errors etc)
    In game Playability
    Theme?

    Update:
Aaron and Disturbed-Jake have been recruited as judges, asked Arma if they're willing, no confirmation yet on that.

    Update Update:
    Arma said no :(

Arma stinks of 400 year-old socks.

I like those criteria, maybe ditch Details so we have:

    • Layout - is it too convoluted? is it too basic?
    • Relevance to theme - needs to be a secret area/base after all!
    • Complexity - are there good use of features/tiles to create complex spaces? is the map too complex and therefore difficult to play/navigate?
    • Accuracy - looking out for tile errors

    Oooo I like those

Maybe on a points system too? To make judging relatively easier. Either 10 points each of weigh it according to what's the most relevant.

    E.g.
    10 layout
    10 theme relevance
    20 complexity
    5 tile errors

    Mainly spitballing
I'll have some css up soon (LE - two days from last posted)

Update: juliorain is now the third judge!!! That's three ;D

    points -
should be relatively harder than ppc, 25 participation points, and higher amounts to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd?
