GT Skype planning ~

WELCOME ALL TO LE PLANNING~! ​

SO, what do we plan?

No, scratch that, before we get down to some business, I want every one to state their name, timezone, and where to contact you if needed or whatever. (irc, battle server, forums ect.) If you have any ideas or suggestions, then you're all welcome to express them.

We have 3 weeks, so let's have fun, soak some sun and give it our all.


We will then, from there, discuss some ways to fit in this year's theme: Olympics! And please don't forget to read the guidelines and rules just so we stay on track but still have a blast planning.

Skype handles will come last just so everyone knows. Any objections, then please express them!

So the deadline is pretty close and there is still work to do. Shall I write and style an opening post tomorrow? I think it would be pretty useful to have each other's Skype names and time zones and as far as I can see only mine listed above.

I'm not sure if you guys were told, but Klippy added me as one of the chat mods for the skype chat. If there's still stuff to do, like emblems and all that, I'd be more than happy to help out once I'm back home tonight. I plan to be up super late working on GT stuff. :D

Okie! I'll work on the emblem right now. Should have it done later on.

I'll be doing mostly evening shifts this week at work (for both jobs), so I'll be available to cover some of the Australian/European shifts. However, I'm pretty much available anytime since I can access skype on my phone while I'm at work and like...not be told or anything. (yay for being a supervisor).

if no one can't do morning shifts for the US, I'll be more than happy to step in, I had to do it last time I hosted the skype event, and it worked pretty well.

Looks like I'm going to be handling the morning shifts and part of the afternoon as well. Evening and night, I could perhaps pop in and out frequently since I am always somewhat occupied during those times.

Trying to stick with the "olympics" theme here, but this is as close as I can get with "Pokemon" and "group phone call". lol

I have another idea, but it's Spongebob...not sure if anyone here wants to use that instead of the above!

I'm in UTC+2 and I think I can manage to be online a good amount of the time between 10 AM and 9 PM, which would be between 3 AM and 2 PM EST, so that covers the US morning nicely.

The Agora: Skype chat. What do you think?
This is what I have now, I'll finish it tonight. I might change the style too, because it doesn't completely satisfy me yet.

The Agora: Skype chat​

Many of the ancient Greek city-states had a gather point in the city, the so-called Agora. Its original purpose was the location where the statements of the king could be heard and citizens gathered for their military duties, but over time it became the social center where merchants kept their stalls and where democratic voting was kept.
As the PokéCommunity is spread all over the world, a square as gathering point would be unthinkable. Thanks to modern technologies we don't have to rely on carrier pigeons either. So if you like to chat and/or call up your buddies for some chit chat about the latest happenings of what is going on with each others lives or just want to have some fun with the rest of the PC members and maybe end up meeting/becoming friends with members that you have not come across or just haven't spoken much to? The Agora is the place to be!

To make things easier, we're gonna have to create a new skype chat, copy the URI (a link, basically) so that way people can easily access to the chat by simply clicking. They did this last year, and it made things a hell lot easier. However, since this event is a core event, I'll assume Sotomura or the other higher-up hosts will provide the chatroom and such.

How does this work?

It's pretty easy. All you have to do is to log in Skype and click the dark blue button at the bottom of this post. It is mandatory to post your Skype name in this thread so we know nobody is stealing your identity.
If you haven't installed Skype already, no problem. The software is easy and free to download here.
Any problems, like being unable to join or install Skype, can be asked in this thread and we'll gladly help you out.

My main concern with members inviting non-members is that we're not really responsible for what they do in the chat. We can't infract them, we can't discipline them. We *could* ban them from the chat, but it's not enough since they are not affilated with PC at all. So, if we were to be a little lenient towards that, then we will have to be EXTREMELY cautious on who we let in the chat.
