Happy 25th birthday, Pac Man!

Can you believe it? This year marks the 25th anniversary of Pac Man!

So in celebration, this is the place to share Pac-memories...be it the arcade game itself, or one of the other games.

Holy crap, has it really been that long? I should ask people I know who have been around that long what it was like... lessee... my girl was like 2 or 3 when he came out... parents were in their 20s...

Heh, and only few weeks ago I was testing out my old Intelevision with just the normal NHL Hockey to see if it still works (which it does although the screen is all fuzzy when I try it). But as for Pacman, I have that game for the Atari. :D I don't know much about the other versions, but I still like the original.

PacMan used to be cool. Now all the modern games are washed up.

oh where do the years go...I remember when I first played pacman, got to level thirty something...thhen there was that guy who got to the...what was it...256th level? It was so glitchy because the creators didn't figure that someone could get that high...got the guy in the guiness book of world records with his high score somewhere higher than 3 million or something...

My favorite sound effect is quite possibly the pac-man death music...you know-OeeeeeOeeeeeOeeeeOeeeO-wak-wak...but yes, that game revolutionized video games; they almost singlehandedly made them popular. And though most of the subsequent remakes of Pac-Man have been disappointing, the classic is still incredible. There's nothing as special and inspiring as having to eat white dots and fruit in a maze while avoiding flesh-hungry ghosts (who we musn't forget! All good games have good villains.) I haven't seen it in an arcade in many years, but I do have fond memories of playing it a few times.

I liked that noise too, but now even more so since you tried spelling it out. Lol The "wak-wak" made me laugh.

Anyway... Cheers to Pac-Man. The modern games aren't that bad. It's kinda hard to bring Pac-Man into a 3D realm and have it play like Pac-Man. I loved Ms. Pac-Man Maze Madness though. That game was really underrated.

It's somewhat funny, Pac-Man has survived longer then allota people...Happy B-Day old timer!
