I really want to EV train a Ninetales to be on my ultimate team, even before Diamond/Pearl comes here to the USA. Therein lies my problem- I've never EV trained before, I've never IV breeded before, and I have to syncronize my movesets and stats to go along with the future transfer to Diamond from Emerald. Here's what I got so far for a plan.

    Ninetales (F) (nicknamed Naruka)
    Modest (+SpAtt, -Att)
    Scope Lens/Leftovers

    Moveset
    ----------
Confuse Ray (Emerald) OR Extrasensory (Diamond)
    Will-O-Wisp OR Sunny Day
    Flamethrower
HP Grass (Emerald) OR Energy Ball (Diamond, breed)

    EV's
    ----------
    HP- 98
    Attack- 0
    Defense- 32
    SpAttack- 252
    SpDefense- 64
    Speed- 64

Is it good? I would like Ninetales to be a strong Special Attacker, but not to be weak in the defenses like sweepers are. Also, should I go with HP Grass now or breed it in Diamond with Energy Ball?

    Rate and fix, please.

Wait for Diamond/Pearl, HP Grass is insanely hard to get in game and Energy Ball is better anyways. You could try for some nice IV's for a female Ninetales for breeding though. And get rid of the Scope Lens!

Good idea. I could breed now simply for the IVs. Thanks!

But what about the EV's and other moves? Are they good?

Please, oh, please wait for D/P. Grabbing moves from Serebii doesn't make you good. Not even the best know good moves. No D/P moves.

    EV's are effort values.
