Why when I make changes to
Pokemon Fire Red (Pokemon Unbound patched)
    to the data.pokemon > type.chart
save and start a new game
with settings Not First Time, Challenging Puzzles, Insane Difficulty, No Sandbox, Randomizer, Species Randomizer, Skip Cutscenes

All the type chart changes I made, its as if I never did them, even though I saved to the same rom I'm booting up the game with, creating a new game after applying the changes?

[PokeCommunity.com] HexManiacAdvance editing Pokemon Unbound type chart

I created a new game and got a Sandile, fought rival who had Croagunk

I used Sand Tomb and it was counted as super-effective ?

When In my custom type-chart settings:
    I set ground > poison = 1x,
    I set ground > fighting = 1x

It should be normal effectiveness, no ?

And then I just created a new game got Swalot who is Poison type, and fought Rival using Luxray.
    My custom type-chart settings:
    I set Electrc > poison = 2x

Luxray used Thunder Schock (Electric) on my Swalot (Poison Type), and it did normal damage?

It's like the game doesn't care about what I set there and uses its own default type chart...

Like what is even going on... Anyone know?

Hex Maniac Advance is not designed for editing other people's ROM hacks. Even if you're not republishing the hack on the Internet, you're going to have a hard time making the changes you probably wanted to make.

You would need the developers' .toml file and knowledge on what things were changed and how the developers made such changes. Core game mechanics could have been modified with decomps or the CFRU (ex. hacks like ROWE and Radical Red), limiting the amount of tables that HMA can pick up and let you Goto. Not only will you have a hard time editing the hack, other people will struggle trying to diagnose the problem and offer solutions.
Basically romhack tends to moved its data, and because HMA only know default / vanila location,
its not recognize the new data.
