Hello there! I've been a fan of pokemon since the Gen 1 days myself. Still is pretty good! Mmm, but yeah, welcome to the forums! As I told all of the other newcomers who are interested in ROM Hacking, feel free to visit the ROM Hacking board for all related-ROM Hacking discussions, games, as well as tools and resources if you're interested in ROM Hacking! There is a beginner's section there too I believe, where you can ask questions and such if you're just starting out~
