    Hey guys I am the FallenShogun, I was led here by a post I saw on another forum and am trying to get back into the great world of pokemon. Haven't played any of the games myself since yellow ( Yes I am really out of touch ) but am keen to find out more, explore new areas and meet new friends!
     
    Welcome to PC! I really appreciate the fact that you're trying to get back into pokémon. The new games are really good, especially Black 2 and White 2 in my opinion. X/Y is also a good place to start since it has many old and new pokémon in it, and you actually get the Gen 1 starters as part of the story so you'll at least have that along with any other Gen 1 pokémon. We also have a subforum for Gen 1 and Gen 2, so if you'd like to talk about the older games then go there.

    Hello to you too Shogun! Hope you're feeling well if I ask myself.

    So, you have not played any Pokemon games outside of 1st Gen? You've been out of the franchise for what has been 4 generations worth now. But hopefully you consider getting a 3DS and get back into things with 6th Gen, but I gotta warn it's so drastically different because there's so much more new Pokemon, a new type is in the fray and well, tons of other mechanics introduced in the generations prior.

    Strider mentioned the Metal & Color Generation section if you still want to discuss the old days of Kanto in terms of the games, but hopefully you can get caught up to modern times soon enough. I hope to see you around and do enjoy your stay!
     
    Lots to catch up on which is pretty awesome since you'll be busy for a while going through all of these awesome games. Never too late to dive into it all again. 8D Welcome to PC, Shogun!     Sarcasm aside, welcome to Pokemon. It's as good as ever right now. I kinda stopped playing Omega Ruby, sold it, and waiting for an XY 3rd game so I can get back into it, but with the newest game.
