Hidden power strategy

I just found something out... I don't know if it's occurred to anyone here before, and I don't even know if it belongs in this forum, but I thought I'd share it anyway. :D

In Pokemon Emerald, I discovered a person in my Match Call option today called Beauty Jessica. I went to battle her today, and when her Kecleon came up, I sent my own Kecleon out, just for fun. I'd put Hidden Power on him, and a sudden inspiration hit me. I used Hidden power, and lo and behold, Jessica's Kecleon color changed to Psychic type! I'd found an easy way to figure out the type of my Hidden Power! @.@

Has anyone else done this before? Has it occurred to you to do this? Am I just a total n00b for just now coming up with this? Lol. Please let me know. Thanks in advance, guys! :D

Yes, I've figured this out, too. It's an easy way to determine, what HP has your pokemon got.
Btw, thanks for posting this. I almost forgot this, cause I haven't got too many pokemon in my party that knows Hidden Power and I didn't teach HP to any other pokemon, so this "strategy" can come really handy in the future I think.

Too bad you can't figure out the attack of the HP... pretty useless to have a good HP when the attack is something low as 10.

if you know the IV's of your pokemon:

then you cause use this to determine the power and type of your hidden power:

Well, the IVs are always the same for a certian type of HP. Yes I did know that trick.:D

Tch. I figured out tha whole Kecleon/HP thingy a long time ago...
